Hello again and I hope everyone is having a purrfect night tonight.

I do however have a question though.

I smoke outside and all day I have heard a kitten mewing, sounds anywhere from 2 1/2 - 4 weeks old, today is the first time I heard it. It is coming from under my neighbors trailer. It is breaking my heart hearing it every time I'm outside. I did try to get it today while mostly everyone around me was at work but the kitten is between a plastic layer on the ground and the under pinning and I looked around the house and there is really nowhere for any adult cat to crawl under and have kittens. I tried to catch my neighbor coming in but I didn't catch her on time to ask her what I should do, if it is ok for me to do what I need to or just let it be and die. If it was under my house, totally different story. I'm stuck between getting this baby and messing up the plastic that was tucked up and trying to fix it the best I can when I get it or just leaving it there and me and her smelling it.

I trust no one here, we aren't even allowed to have animals but people do anyway. Both of my closest neighbors is in front and beside me and they are step siblings. But I'm scared if I go trying to get this kitten out, the girls stepbrothers gf will snitch on me if she sees me doing this and I don't want to get in trouble and have to move. I don't have money to move either. This kitten seems lonely, hungry, cold and scared.

I'm torn and want to cry. Help?

I would get the kitten if I were you. Can you do it without causing serious damage?

I more than likely can but I will probably have to cut the plastic and dig a deep hole. I'm outside right now and I hear it and if I knew I wouldn't wake girl up or her baby, I would now, and if I used a flash light, people would see me. it's killing me.

I doubt that this kitten will make it through the night if you don't do something now. It's a hard choice. You know your neighbors.

Not really and this chick doesn't like cats, let alone them being in the yard. I'm going to try. Wish me luck, please.

Animal control in my area are really good about coming out and helping animals in need. I know they vary, but just leaving it to perish is not a good alternative. Call them and maybe your local press - even a bad animal control department likes beingheros on the news.

You could call the Humane Society or ASPCA too, but in my experience ( working for the HS) they are always very short handed and rarely available to go on these rescue mssions.

In either case, you can do so annonymously. Anyone could have heard it and called.

Can you get any food to it? Does it sound old enough to eat canned food? In this heat it MUST have water before food, and never ever feed a cold baby ( or feed a baby cold water).

Best of luck. If I lived closer I'd come over and play the bad guy for you.

Hurray! [emoji]128077[/emoji]

Tell me what you have of the following:

Eggs
Mayonnaise
Yogurt
Honey

Do you have a small, needleless syringe or eye dropper?

Can you post a picture of the kitten?

I can post a pic in a few. Gotta let my phone charge a little bit more. I have mayo and eggs and that's it until tomorrow, Sat. I have what I get my daughters meds in, a syringe for kids from the pharmacy, will that help. The momma cat got pissed when I showed her the new kitten.

Don't worry about your momma cat right now.

This kitten needs feeding ASAP. Tiny kittens don't last long without eating.

Beat an egg yolk (no white) and a tablespoon of mayonnaise. Add a sprinkle of sugar if you have it, and a teaspoon of water.

Fill the syringe. Feed the kitten tummy down, head up, in the side of the mouth only, 1-2 DROPS at a time. Let it swallow and breathe, and go again. Try to get 1-2 mLs in the kitten. If it wants more, give more.

Then, using a cloth, gently rub its tummy and privates to help it pee and poop.

Let me know how this goes. I'll write more.

Part 2:

For now, the kitten needs feeding every 2 hours, particularly now since its been starving for so long.

Do you have a kitchen scale to weigh it?

It also needs to stay warm. Do you have a heating pad? If so, put it under a blanket on low. If not, fill a bottle with hot water and wrap it in a towel and place it near the kitten. Or a sock filled with dry rice and microwaved for 5 minutes. It keeps warm for 3-4 hours. Kittens need warmth!

The kitten will need kitten formula. You can get a can of powdered PetAg kitten formula at Walmart for about $10. You will need to begin feeding this. When I know the age and/or weight of the kitten I can tell you exactly how much to feed.

Baby looks between 2-3 weeks old. Much too young to be away from its mama!

Thank you for saving it!

The kitty was def hungry. I don't have all of those things to keep it warm so I just bundled it up in a blanket of my daughters. It seemed to calm down and go to sleep until I woke it up to feed it.

Me being me, I would rather someone get pissy at me for saving a life at 1-2 am than to let it go and do nothing about it, even if it is under a neighbors trailer. I just got a big heart.

I hope I didn't wake my neighbor doing so because I was being quiet and loud at the same time.

It is orange.

Thank you Sarthur2. So far, so good.

You do have a big heart! I do too, so I understand. You did the right thing. I'm glad you did. Kittens are helpless. This kitten is adorable! I love orange kittens!

Do you know how much it ate?

It needs to eat as often as possible, every 2-3 hours or so. It will probably wake you up hungry and crying.

Let me know how it's doing. Will you be able to get some kitten formula soon? It has all the right nutrients that kittens need.

This baby woke my man and daughter up. It is defiantly a stray, keeps hollering and screaming on top of it's lungs.

Bless you for your kindness! You have a big heart and are brave to rescue this helpless baby even though you were nervous about your neighbors, I hope they understand, you couldn't let it die. Please keep us posted!
