Today I brought home four feral kittens that were at the humane society. I"ve been a foster home since 2007 but have only had a few true "feral" cats/kittens. I know these were outdoors with a mother. They are about 7-8 weeks old. (harder to tell as they are very fluffy) An older gentleman had been feeding alot of cats (he lives in the countryside) Family put him in a home and sold the house. The cats went from being fed to nothing
The majority migrated to the farm down road and now they have like 20 new cats to feed when they just finished spay/neutering the ones they had. These kittens were brought in hoping that they were young enough to be tamed and homed. THey are beautiful kittens but WILD.
I've had luck separating a litter so they bond with humans instead of littermates. If anyone has any other suggestions, I would love to hear any tricks of the trade. I have feliaway. I have been using ovenmitts to hold them to get some scratches and pets in. One in particular is super aggressive so I've separated him for now. I will be reading other threads but thought I'd post.
