Well.. that explains a lot why my grandma's cat gave birth to so many kitties with those exact traits.. My grandma used to feed a siamese that showed up in her yard pregnant.. She didn't know if she belonged to anyone, but she didn't care. So the cat stayed in my grandparents house. She gave birth and 3 out of 5 kittens were black with brown cast - just as you describe.. Only one was like her.. Also, there was a male black cat, who was wandering over there and seemed to try to get close to the mommy cat.. My grandpa used to chase him away (he was afraid for the kittens), but he'd always come back.. Long story short, my grandma started feeding him too and they ended up with the couple living in their house for several years, while they had several litters.. And they almost all looked just as you described. Both of the cats died of old age, having lived a full and happy life together.
Yes, that CAN be the result. I've personally seen this; for instance, my family's second cat was rescued as a kitten in the middle of the street in back of ours, where he was sitting by his Siamese mother, who had been hit-and-runned.He was a magnificent longhaired black cat with very silky fur that had a reddish (brown) cast. I've also seen other cats whose moms were Siamese and whose humans didn't get them spayed; they did have "romantic interludes" with handsome ebony princes, and the results were shorthaired black cats with reddish-brown casts to their fur. I'm not at all a proponent of selective "breeding" in cats (or humans, for that matter) -- but these are results I have personal knowledge of.
Glad you like it Tarasgirl06*Is THAT adorable or what?!!
