Remember the NES game? Awesome!

My son and I spent hours playing Dr. Mario together with the original NES. And then there was Tetris (oh man, Tetris just rocked). He was dating a Japanese girl at the time and she gave him quite a few Japanese versions of the various games. The Japanese Tetris was amazing and the music was just adorable. And then there was Sim City. One day, I came home from working third shift and spent the entire day on Sim City. I wanted that Mario statue bad!
Around 6:30 that night, we were eating dinner and a jet flew into my city and all chaos broke loose. I jumped up from the table and it took me a good hour or so to fix everything again. As fast as I'd put out a fire, another one would start. Floods, really high crime, another plane crash. But by golly, I was going to get that Mario statue if it was the last thing I did. And I refused to turn off the disasters.

Around 9:30 that night, I got my statue to place in the center of the city. And I went into work a very pooped, but pleased Pam. I had gotten no sleep at all, but I got that statue.

Our son spent a lot of time playing Zelda; that was one of his favorites.

I also used to come home from second shift at work at 11:00 at night and play Tetris til 3 or 4 in the morning before going to bed. I was the unbeatable Tetris Queen.
(I have Tetris on my cell phone)

There was a racing game that Rick and our son used to play. Ms. Pepe (our now 20+ year old cat) was just a wee kitten then. She would sit there and watch the cars racing across the screen and when they got to the end of the screen and disappeared, Pepe ran around to the back of the tv to try to find them. She was hilarious. She just couldn't figure out where those darn cars went.

My son texted me a couple minutes ago to see if we were buying one when they come out in November......and to ask Santa for one for himself for Christmas. I told him that I was going to ask Santa, too!

I love this!!! We still have our original Nintendo system and a slew of games (and a game genie!) Unfortunately it stopped working a few years back...problem from all the dirt/dust collected from years of blowing the system "clean".
