My question is how long can the calicivirus live on objects in my house?

If my kitten had calicivirus (which I believe she did) when would it be safe to have another kitten in that same living space?

I don't want the new kitten to get calicivirus.

Thank you very much!

I'm sorry you believe your kitten had Calci Virus.

Any information I have seen suggest that it shouldn't survive more than a couple of weeks, and certainly not more than a month.  If it were me I would still want to be sure the environment had been cleaned as thoroughly as possible anyway though.

Thank you MServant I appreciate the help. This is what I have read as well, but I wanted to double check with the cat experts here. My wife and I have been cleaning like maniacs and spraying everything wiyh Lysol. On the Lysol bottle it claims to kill calicivirus in 10 minutes.

Thanks again!

I had my kitten tested for calici because she has gingivitus and luckily the test came back negative. I did a lot of reading on this virus and it said it is highly contagious . Have a word with your vet to put your mind at rest
