My one year old pregnant cat is recently an outdoor cat. Yesterday morning around 6am, I found her under the house and when she looked at me, she looked cross-eyed. After closer examination, I realized her pupils were kind of dilated and the inner eyelid was covering half her eye. After some research, I came to the conclusion that she was dehydrated. I brought her inside with a fresh bowl of water and she drank a minimal amount then started acting very lethargic. For the remainder of the day I had to feed her water with a syringe. At about 5pm yesterday, she started bleeding and I assumed she was miscarrying. My assumption was correct. She won't lick herself and when she has contractions, she goes to the litter box like she's pooping. She had 2 stillborn cats in the litter box (one outside of sack but came out with the sack and one still wrapped in the sack) and I think she has another in there because about an hour ago, she started bleeding again. Her eyes remain the same, but her nose is dripping a clear fluid. She drank a good bit of water this morning but she hasn't eaten anything in the 2 days I've been home. Help please

Hi there, I'm so sorry to hear about the stillborn kittens :( You probably want to take her to the vet, to make sure there are no more kittens left. If they are in there too long, she can get very sick, so I would do it as soon as possible (today, if you can).

You should contact a vet, and get guidance.  Probably she may need vet care too.  As it seems to be a rather complicated miscarriage.

Do you know how long was the pregnancy?  Theoretically there may still be one alive in her which perhaps may be carried and deliverd alive when its time come - practically??

If you cant get her to a vet, continue with feeding her with a syringe, make sure she drinks and eats.   Watered down wet food, or even better goats milk are suitable...

But as said - Im sure its a vet errand, the only Im unsure of if the vet wants to see her asap, or when she is done with the miscarrying...

@psychoangel I'm so sorry thst you two are going through this...if all the babies are stillborn..my suggestion would be to get her to the vet and bring the babies with you...I personally cannot offer any other advice than that...please call your vet and see what they say...in the meantime I will be praying for you both as well as the babies [emoji]128532[/emoji]

Agreed that she should get to a vet. Why is she recently an outdoor cat?
Sorry you're going through this.

She is recently an outdoor cat. She was inside most of her life then I started letting her out on a leash about 5 months ago. So about 2-3 months ago, she escaped and was outside lost for a week. When I got her back, she refused to stay inside. She would get angry and hostile, but if she w

I would get her to a vet for spaying ASAP. She may need medications as well. She sounds ill beyond the miscarriage. In fact, the miscarriage is probably because she is not well.

I think I do agree with SARthur.  this is not only a complicated miscarriage, but surely something more, something serious. Contact the vet immediately if you hadnt done it yet, and or rush her in.   Her life is at stake here.

Were you able to take her to a vet? Did they have any information?

I'm so sorry.

On behalf of The Cat Site Moderating Team, we are so sorry you lost your cat and kittens. You might want to post a memorial in our Crossing the Bridge Forum. When a member loses their cat, we close the thread to show our respect and sympathy. I will do that now.
