Luv Bug

My 15 month old kitten was just diagnosed with Feline Leukemmia. I've read good things about this T-Cyte. I heard it can be costly...but we feel the cost would be worth it. The problem is, we can't find it. We live in IL. Can we get a prescription for this and administer at home? Does anyone know any place I can get my hands on this medicine? We aren't ready to give up on out little Luv Bug yet. She is on steroids right now that are helping her a little bit. We will get her some antibiotics today. We were just hoping to find a more long term method.

There is a thread on this forum about T-Cyte treatment.....'seems you're not alone in having trouble finding/obtaining it.

BUT, there is also another group of people online who, I'm sure, will know.

It's a specialized online community whose focus is the management of their FeLV kitties. I posted info and a link to them in the thread I just mentioned.

Perhaps, after you 'speak' with the people in that specialized group, you could post an update about what you've learned of US availability in that thread.....I don't think anyone from the group has contributed to that discussion.

(FeLV is a very sensitive issue for me....twelve years ago, I lost a precious cat to that disease - but, more so to my ignorance that those specialized groups even existed [and to an utterly incompetent Vet].....I'm convinced today that, had I been able to draw on those peoples' information and experience, my little guy would not have passed before his time.)
