Hi. I just wanted to tell my story about my cats pregnancies.
Somebody abandoned some kittens in a field, and I ended up adopting one of them. She grew alittle and got pregnant. She has had 3 litters throughout her life. She is 2 years old. She is an outside cat.

With her first pregnancy she was about 1 year old. she was very quiet about it. She didn't get very large at all, and I was new at the whole cat thing so I didn't really know she was pregnant till that last weeks. She had 4 kittens under our shed, one was dead, still in its sack. The other ones were born without tails. 2 boys 1 girl. One of the boys didn't have a tail at all. The girl had half a tail. We gave both the boys to a friend and we kept the girl. All is well. We named the girl soggy, because her body was all wet and soggy when we found her.

With her second litter which wasn't to long ago, she was about 1 year and 5 month. When she went into labor. She meowed constantly before it happened, very affectionate with herself. It was the middle of winter so she had them inside. She had 5 kittens, all were normal. 1 boy, 2 girls, and 2 twin girls!! Soggy, her other daughter, helped "nurse"(even though she is fixed) the kittens. It was very cute. We found homes for all of them.

We had plans to get her spayed after her 2nd litter, we had app. And everything. But while she was nursing her 2nd litter, we noticed her belly getting large, it had only been 4 weeks after having her 2nd litter and she was pregnant again!

Her 3rd litter. She wasnt even that big, she looked as had in her second litter, wasn't very big at all. She gave birth to 9 kittens a few days ago. 9! But with her labor, she showed no signs of having them at all. The only thing was when she lost her plug and had watery leakage. There was no meowing, no being affectionate. She showed no signs. But there was heavy movement. She was in labor just about 3 days before actually having them. I can see why it took so long. She gave birth in a dresser drawer. I watched and had to help pull 2 out. She was very exhausted. All together it took about 4 hours to have them all. The kittens are smaller then average, they are all living, all doing well. Moving around, meowing. At first we thought she only had 8 nipples, so I started taking turns for the kittens to nurse, but it turns out she had 9 nipples! What a coincidence huh?. It all worked out. My cat is doing fine now. She's eating alot. But, she hasn't been drinking much water. Definitely getting her spayed soon.!

Poor girl! That's a lot of babies to care for! You might have to help her out by supplementing them with formula. You can check out the pregnant cats and kittens forum for more info on how to do that properly.

Be sure to keep her in until she's spayed! Cats can get pregnant right away after giving birth---which you already found out! :lol3: But I'm sure you don't want it to happen again.

Welcome to the site!!

And yikes, that's a lot of kittens for one young cat! Yes, I agree, keep her inside until you can get her spayed. I am sure she's had enough and does not want more litters!

Got photos?
