I took in four foster kittens tonight. The boys are big and plump and have good weights

Sylvester is 343 grams

Pepè is 340 grams

Precious is 220 grams

Willow is 196 grams

The girls ate really well and took to the bottle great. The boys wouldn't take anything. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't get them to eat. I tried a few times.

Pepè is worrying me he has peed so much he filled up a wash cloth. You could even fill how full his little bladder was. His penis was swollen like it was being sucked on. It is so bad the slightest touch back there and he pours. He has finally quit crying and is asleep. All of them seem content right now and cuddling together sleeping.

This is what I know the man who found them yesterday on his porch in a box. He feed them whole milk in a human baby bottle. They have a lot of fleas. I will bath them in dawn in the morning. I am also going to see if the rescue has some capstar. I am getting kmr from them tomorrow. Tonight all I have is goats milk.

Because of the estimated age is about 3 weeks I put some wet food out with milk and the girls went crazy over it. The boys again didn't want nothing to do with it. Now I am worried I did wrong to do that.

If they'll eat it let them. Have you been stimulating them to poop and pee?

The boys need to be fed with a small, needleless syringe if they won't take the bottle. They may like the KMR better than the goat's milk.

They are not old enough for a capstar pill, but you could put a couple of drops of Advantage II on their necks after their baths.

The sore penis is worrisome. It should not be sucked on. Maybe the warm bath will give him some relief. A tiny dab of A&D diaper ointment may help, as it sounds raw.

Please update tomorrow.

Sorry I haven't updated til now. I have been really busy with the kittens and am tired. I have never seen so many fleas in my life. It took hours to get them the way they are now and its not great. Poor babies have to have anemia from it. How do I help with that?

I am getting ready to make fluids for them plus feed more. Still waiting to meet up with Kathy. I will post good pics when I can but they are gorgeous.

this is before they were cleaned up.

Try to get a tube of Advantage II to use. Are the kittens eating well? I'm sure they will need worming too. Were you able to put ointment on the one kitten?

He is good now after a good pee lol I just need to get on a schedule good for them. I feel so out of my element. But I do have help this time. I just need to figure out a feeding schedule I am about to weigh them now to get weights, I know I wont be up at 11 30 tonight. I know the one boy lost weight so I hope it gets better.

You can get some recovery wet food from the vets as well. It's really high in calories, easily digestible, can be put in a blender, and is very smelly. It doesn't have the essential nutrients a cat needs as it's just for weight gain so you have to mix it with KMR our another wet food.

They are all eating from a saucer. Three eat the KMR mush and one just laps the KMR by itself. Kathy said they prefer them off the bottle as soon as possible just to make sure they don't aspirate.

I had to take care of the fleas yesterday. I had 90 percent picked off. I rebathed them and after getting them dry I used Frontline spray on the four little ones, revolution on Lil Bit and Sweet Pea. I shampooed all my carpets and sprayed Adams flea spray on my couch and beds. Then everything that could be put in the washer was. I dried everything on high heat. I hope that helps and will repeat everything in a few days. I hope to be able to buy advantage 2 on Friday. I checked with the rescue and they didn't have any but they had the frontline.

Is there anything else that would work besides advantage 2 that is safe. I am allergic to fleas but my baby boy is severely allergic. The poor thing looks like he has chicken pox on one side of his body. Do you think that me cleaning my carpets helped? I used hot water and the pet carpet cleaning stuff.

Yes, Frontline is good, as was cleaning your carpets, spraying Adams, and washing everything. It sounds like your child was bitten by fleas. I hope things get better!

Things are getting better. Where they are eating mush usually after I feed them and clean them up at the last feeding I can usually get about five hours of sleep before they cry for food. They are very vocal kittens even when they don't want food. Last night before their last feeding I found poop in their closet. This morning there was five. So they are starting to poop on their own. I was looking at getting kitten attract litter for them but it says it's a clumping litter I am afraid to now. What do you think?

It's amazing what a few days of good care will do. Their bellies are filled out and full. No more loose skin and fur is starting to grow on their bellies. I need to worm them soon but was afraid to because of possible anemia. I noticed yesterday their gums are pinking back up. Can I worm them today to get it started? It's the vet strogid that the foster network gave me left over from Lil Bit's kittens.

I think you can safely worm them since they are eating well.

Use whatever litter you have on hand and put the pan near them. Begin putting them in the box before and after meals, and at other times, so they start to learn.

I'm glad they are doing well! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

They are so amazing. I am starting to get into a grove of things, finally. They wake up between 6-6:30 for a feeding. After the feeding they get cleaned because they are MESSY. Then about every 4-5 hours they get fed again. The last feeding is between 9-11 after a good bath and dry they sleep until the next morning which allows me to sleep. Pepè finally got a taste for the mush this morning and ate for a good five minutes. I need to get some premixed kmr because they still want to nurse but the powder keeps clogging the bottle. I hope one to two bottles will satisfy that need to suck.

Is there anything I can do to make a soothing blanket or anything. There is no way they are hungry but they still want to nurse.

Soak the ends of a cloth diaper in KMR and give it to them to suckle as a pacifier.

I would think that powdered KMR, if mixed well with a whisk to get the lumps out, would not clog the bottle if the nipple hole is sized correctly. I'm not a fan of the pre-mixed - it seems to cause tummy upset and diarrhea.

I'm glad to hear that the new kittens are doing well so far. Did the other kittens get adopted?

Thank you for the idea that is a really good one.

I don't know if they have yet. I haven't talked to her in a few days. I seen a picture of a kitten that looked like them and I almost cried. We all miss them. Sweet Pea is lonely you can tell. Lil Bit is so moody she doesn't know how to act towards her.

I try my best to keep Sweet Pea separated from the kittens but sometimes she gets in there. I think she is trying to show that she's Alpha over them. She will go in there just to the litter box and get litter every where. Then she will use their box and just leave it. No cover up or nothing.

But I have noticed they have been going to the box so much better since she has been 'showing' them who is boss.

It's so amazing how fast they will grow in a week.

I'm glad they are using the litter box better!

Who does that leave still needing adoption?

Both boys need a home but there is an application for one of them.
