One kitten was born about an hour ago but she's making no attempt to feed it and is acting like it's not there. Will she start caring for it soon

Sometimes mom won't nurse until she's done delivering. Is the baby feeding now? Any more born?

How are things going?  Mom's usually wait until all the kittens are born before nursing them.  Can you put a heat source nearby for the kittens so they stay warm.

Thank you. I've got the mum to drink but she's not hungry and she hasn't been out for a wee yet but she's doing well

Mom ate the placentas so she may not eat much yet. Glad the babies are doing well! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Born in the junk cupboard. Not sure if I should move them. There is one more black and white one too

Can you put them in a bedroom closet? I'm not sure if a junk cupboard is the safest place for them!

Yes, you can use goats milk, its a good alternative.  Raw - fresh or frozen is best, but bottled or powdered at least 3% fat are OK.

If you dont have bottle...  You can use a needleless syringe (easiest) or a dropper, or even a straw.  Its alittle tricky if you arent used, but its standard.

Tummy down, head up, may be raised a little diagonally up.  In the corner of the mouth, dropwise so he can swallow properly.  It may be alittle difficult in the beginning till he get the hang of ot.

You can alternatively try with a little sponge, for example such a sponge for make-up.   The kitten suckles from this sponge, and you fill on the goats milk with a dropper or similiar...

This works nicely in many cases.

If he weight say 300grammes, which is possible for a healthy kittens, its 10 oz, 8 ml per oz a day, he will need about 80 ml goats milk.

Please proceed to report even if not much happens.

I don't think she has enough as she's really good and she's always feeding them. But they constantly cry never seem full

Okay, supplementing is the way to go. Do you have weights, and I'll tell you how much to feed and how often.
