Has anyone ever had a cat that liked to climb up the inside of the lamp shade to stare at the lightbulb? My cat has been doing this for years. I try to stop her but she keeps going back to it. She usually has her eyes closed and her head up like she is basking in the sun! I don't know if she does this because she is an inside cat and likes the light or if she is just weird. Does anyone know why she does this?

Staring at lights?

The only thing I can think of is that she has somehow discovered that it is warm. My kitties always try to find the warmest spot in the house, sometimes it is directly on my chest (3 cats are heavy) Lucy used to lay in front of the fireplace, sometimes she got so hot I was afraid her fur was going to spontaneously combust.
