I just took my kitten to get her first shots. She's 12 weeks old so she's late. Well, she is fineish. She's eating right, playing right, eliminating properly. It's the day after the shots so she isn't sleepy anymore. She was the first night. NOW every time we pick her up she screams like she's hurting. I just was kind of feeling hurt and she screams out every time I touch a certain area, which was one injecting site. Is it just pain from the shots and will go away ? Or should I take her to another vet ??

It happened with my kitten last week. He had trouble to move (the first hours he was OK but 10hours later he could go in his litterbox but was really slow. He loked totally out of it and when I picked him up he was screaming in pain.

How many shots did your kitten get on that day? Is she eating, drinking water at all?

She got 4 in total. She's fine now tho so I'm assuming she was sore from the shots.

Some of the shots can cause a painful spot...sometimes with or without swelling. It usually resolves itself within a few days and kittens seem to recover fairly quickly, as you have seen! :)  If the pain comes back, a trip to the vet is in store as it could indicate an infection or reaction to the shots.

Gosh! Is that standard, to have so many shots at a time? My kittens just had their first shots yesterday, they got 2 vaccines but the vet put both in the same syringe so they were only poked once. 4 times must be really traumatic, no wonder your baby is sore. I hope she feels better soon.

You should look at a website called vitalanimal. I've been researching for about a week straight and have come to the conclusion vaccines cause more harm than good. Good luck I hope your kitty feels better soon.
