You have all been very helpful in the past, so here I am again.

My daughter has two dogs and two inside cats of her own.  She lives out in the country, so she's seen a lot of stray cats come and go.  This is the newest one that's been hanging around her house.  He looks fairly healthy (especially after she fed him and fattened him up), so he looks like he's just a stray, not a real feral.  I met him yesterday, and he was a little skittish, but pretty friendly.  She's been feeding him and trying to clean up his eye goop.  She just sent me more pics after she washed him off with a rag and gave him some flea meds.  He is so handsome!  I don't have pics of his rear, but trust me, he needs neutering for sure!

The big problem is his eyes.  One is green and the other looks brown.  I know that might be fairly common, but after getting closer and taking pictures of him, we realized that something is wrong with his right eye.  After making myself crazy with online research, I think he might have glaucoma or cataracts....or both.  Either one would be horrible.  My daughter wants so badly to take him to the vet, but neither of us have any money right now, and we've both maxed out our Care Credit cards on our pets.

I took the 1st three pics yesterday, and the others are from a few minutes ago.  In the last pic, his eye actually looks better to me than it did yesterday.   Sorry, I can't get the middle pics to rotate.

What do you think?

I have no idea, but he should be trapped and to the vet for neuter and then they can diagnosis the eye.  It could be any number of things.  Since he is not neutered he could have been in a fight and the eye was scratched.  He could have scratched it on a branch.  He could have an upper respiratory infection that settled in the eye.  It is best to get him trapped and straight to the vet to see how serious it is.

Thank you for caring for him.  He certainly does need some help.

If you can't afford veterinary care for him, another option would be to discuss the situation with your local Humane Society. If you surrender the cat to them as a stray, they would provide medical care for his eye, and neuter and vaccinate him, and after he is medically cleared, you could adopt him. The adoption fee, which is about 65 dollars, is much less expensive than the vet bills you would incur if you paid for it yourself. Discuss this situation and your intention to adopt him with the Humane Society and see if you can work something out with them. The eye needs to be examined by a vet, eye problems can quickly become very serious in a cat, so that is the priority even before neutering. Another option is to do a GoFundMe to see if you could raise the money to get him veterinary care. Good luck, and thanks for rescuing this cat.
