One of cats has been throwing up after eating food. Also my cats are really skinny looking. My nine month old male weighs 5 pounds. My 1 year 9 month old male cat weights 9 pounds and my one year and nine month old female weighs 6 pounds. They eat a lot and live outside. They have had shots and all that so why do they seem so skinny?

Hi @britt17  Welcome to TCS.

It sounds like your cats need to be treated for worms. Losing weight even when they have enough food and throwing up are both signs of worm infestation. You can take then to the vet to have them tested for worms or you can take a poop sample to the vet to be tested. You need to get the reputable worming medicines from your vet. Don't use the over-the-counter ones. They're cheaper, but they can cause severe allergic reactions.

I agree they need de-worming, on a regular basis, too, not just this once. So ask your vet about setting up a regar de-worming schedule. Once every 3 months is pretty standard for outdoor cats.

Okay. They just got dewormed a few weeks ago so I thought that they would start gaining some weight but it doesn't look like it. So I will talk to the vet about de worming some more. Lately they haven't been eating as fast or as much as they were so I don't know if that's a good thing or not. They still eat a lot but just not in one sitting and they don't act like they are starving when its time to be feed again.

They may just be slim. Can you see their ribs and hip bones? If not, they're just slim, must get lots of exercise! Some cats naturally have a slimmer build and some are stockier.
