Hi everyone!

I have a cat she is about 18 months ago, she had 2 kittens on April 19th and did a great job as a mama!! I was so proud of her <3 However the kittens are gone, and since, Ive switched her food from the kitten food. she usually vomits her food up about 15-20 minutes after eating. She is also having trouble with the transition of the hard food from kitten food back to adult. She acts hungry and meows like she wants me to feed her but when I open a can of food she doesn't scarf it down like she used to and i am wasting a lot of money on wet food. I kept the same brand of food just switched from kitten to adult and even got the sensitive skin and stomach formula. She is still playful and snuggly but has lost a ton of weight and it makes me so sad! Anyone else have anything similar to this? How do i get her to gain weight and do i just go back to the kitten food? I should mention I also have another cat who was neutered recently (after the litter they had) so he has gained some weight and I do not want him to get much bigger, but he also throws up from the transition of dry food just not as often. I should also mention I gave my mama cat a dewormer when the kittens left to see if that would help. Thanks again

Sorry, I'm a little confused. Is she eating both dry AND canned?  Is she vomiting both, or just the dry, or which?  If it's the dry, and within 15 to 20 minutes after eating, that may actually be regurgitation, possibly from eating it too quickly.  You might try feeding smaller meals, more often to prevent her from gorging herself. If she is throwing up wet food, then I would say feed her a different food.  Something in there is disagreeing with her, particularly since you said she isn't rushing to eat it.  And since you said she has lost a lot of weight, no reason why she can't continue to eat kitten food to try to gain some of it back.  That being said, though, if she continues the vomiting, she needs to see a Vet, because any consistent vomiting other than regurgitating, is NOT normal.

Are you trying to totally transition you cats to all wet food?  You mentioned your Boy is throwing up also.  Or could his issue be the same.  Maybe he is so happy when he gets kibble that he scarfs it down?  Scarf and barf, we call it.  Please provide more details, such as what they are being ttransitioned from, to, etc.,
