Hey everyone. I have a nearly 6 month old female kitten. She was taken in and spayed 3 weeks ago, and the vet told us that she had anal gland infection/impaction that they took care of while she was there. They told us that if we notice her licking her butt more than usual or scooting on the floor in the future, then bring her in and they express the glands for you. I had not noticed anything out of the ordinary with her prior to hearing that she had a problem, though.

Well, this morning when I gave the kittens wet food she didn't eat any of it. I didn't think too much of it but it worried me a little bit because usually they are all very excited when I get the cans for them. She has also been "talking" to us a lot. She has always been a talker, though, and we find it to be cute. But then I was petting down her back and she lifted her butt like they do when you pet them and I noticed that her butt has a small pink sort of bubble sticking out of it and I am worried that it is a rectal prolapse (picture below). Now I am thinking that maybe she has been talking so much because she is in pain and is trying to let us know

As far as I know, anal gland issues and rectal or anal prolapse aren't related.  Did you get her in to see the Vet for this?  Or at least send that picture?  (great picture, BTW.  Very clear!  (not joking)

Hoping all is ok.  sometimes they take a stitch or two to fix that, sometimes other things are necessary, sometimes nothing is needed.  Has she been constipated or had a lot of diarrhea?  Either can cause this.
