I used to have a cat as a child 10+ years ago and I did suffer from allergies and had to take medication. It does of old age and I have been clear of taking allergy medication for a decade now, we just got a kitten and after spending a day with it my allergies were off the charts including a wheezy chest. I know I am allergic to 98% of dogs, and the few I am not allergic to the owners say they were too until they started feeding their dog a special diet that made them no longer allergic to their dog. I am wondering if this is the same case with cats, and a cat owner told me they make something you can bathe your cat in, to control allergic symptoms. Cat + water = a fight I would assume so I would rather not. I am against going on allergy medications regularly, it is a patch job to control your symptoms when an underlying issue remains.
Any ideas on what I should do?
