We are paying off our mortgage in a couple of weeks and then will begin a remodel with the money we are saving on payments. It is going to be a long drawn out remodel. Basically we are redoing the entire interior since it hasn't been done in YEARS (other than painting). Although the first project isn't inside - hubby is replacing our back deck. Right now it looks terrible. My first project is I am getting rid of all the stuff my kids left here in the numerous moves in and out. I told them if they want it to come and get it. I am not a storage facility! I am making one of the bedrooms into my 'cat room' I have all our rosettes, cat show supplies, and my photography equipment to go in there. Right now it is a room sized version of a junk drawer. Today I am taking 2 bags of clothes to a charity drop off, as well as a box of books. I want to get it cleaned out because I want to paint. The walls are a really pretty green but I think it makes the room to dark. I am planning to set up my photography lights and back drop in there for taking photos of the cats and lighter walls will help I believe. I am excited about the remodel, but dread it too. The stuff we are starting with are easy projects, but we have plans for redoing the 2 bathrooms upstairs, and updating the kitchen, and replacing all the carpet with Pergo or some other type flooring. I have to research to find out what would be the most durable with all the pets we have.
