Hi, I'm new to this site and a bit curious. My kitty Midnight is 2, we adopted her in February from a rescue house with many other cats. April we adopted our little boy Jericho, he's 5 months old now, almost 6. He knocked her up! She is usually very shy, and very touchy but here lately (after adapting to Jericho) she's calmed down, losing her cool for about 3 weeks and then now being all lovey dove again! She wants to lay in my arms and cuddle all the tume, she has thrown up a little a few times and wasn't eating much, but now thankfully is. I feel her tummy regularly, which she allowed tonight! I felt I believe 3 kittens, one kicked me! Where she's been abused and is very touchy and this will be her first babies I'm not sure how she'll do, if she'll be good to them or mean like she was with jericho at first. I'm unsure how to approach this situation, as well as how far along she is. I didn't think he'd get into mating for a bit longer!

Welcome!

Your male kitten was a bit young to mate, but it's possible. Are you sure she has not been outside the home?

Mom cats usually treat their kittens quite well. In fact, the normal instinct is to protect them, so as she gets closer to delivery, you'll want to give her a nest in a room where the male is absolutely not allowed to go.

He needs to be neutered ASAP, by the way.

Nipples pink up around Day 21. Tummies begin to swell at the 5-week point. Pregnancy lasts 65-68 days. Once you can feel or see kitten movement, the cat usually has 2-3 weeks to go.

Continue with any questions on this thread.

[@sarthur2[/@] is spot on about your mumma cat and male we had a 2 year old cat , and when she became pregnant it was not our kitten 5 months at the time of conception ( my six year old let her out on purpose!!) mumma could not stand him as kitten and didn't really like any of our cats[emoji]128580[/emoji]
But is an excellent loving mum and really need to have a room to herself with them .
Also fix boy cat as soon as you can ours is wierdly fascinated by yhe kittens and not really safe with them And at 7 months followed mother cat everywhere when she was out ( he treid biteing her neck but she snarled and smacked him; he is fixed now and although he is still abit funny you can see his hormones levels dropping as he calms down back to kitten behaviour; he even chashed the other adult cats around[emoji]128527[/emoji]
Have fun with the kittens

No, midnight does NOT go outside. Nor does Jericho. They are strictly indoors only. The only time either has been outside is when we brought them home and carried them up from the car.
Both will be getting fixed ASAP.
Midnight has been making herself a comfy bed in our closet, sometimes in the laundry basket! She's taken to my suitcase here recently! But I'm going to let her use the blankets we have on the closet floor. She seems rather comfy there.
