I posted a couple weeks ago here: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/321397/...-kittens-smallest-one-got-away-and-is-missing

Mom and the escapee are doing fine. I feed them morning and evening, and they spend the hot days on my patio in the corner where it's shaded. They roam and hunt or whatever they do all night and sometimes get up on my roof.  I still need to figure out how to catch the smart little one so he/she can be neutered.  I have yet to get a good view of its butt to tell if it is male or female.

The 3 siblings are still with my rescue friend, who had been giving them antibiotics for respiratory infection.  They are done with their meds now and ready to come home. She really thinks that at least two of them can be socialized and adopted.  I would love that, because I know life for homeless cats can be nasty, brutish and short.  I may even consider keeping Dusty and Minnie if I get them to a point where they will get along with my two adult cats. I still need to get them tested for FELV and FIV before i can even consider introducing them.

She's lending me a large cage, and small litter box, and they will live in my spare room. I'm cat proofing it so they can come out and play, but not sure how in the hell I'm going to catch them to go back in their cage at night and when I go to work.

I ordered a big cat tree/condo on Amazon.  I will have fun setting it up when it arrives later next week. I think the kittens will like this and whether or not I keep or adopt them, my kitties will like it, LOL!
Any ideas?  I will be posting here with updates after I get them home.  Wish me luck!

I just got that condo!  It was a breeze to put together and I was impressed at how study it is.

I would leave the kittens in the crate for a day or two - until they get used to the new sights and smells.  You may have to get them used to eating in the crate, so it won't be too hard to get them inside when you need to.  Treats might help, too.  (Bribery is always a good thing with cats)

If the room is kitten proof and they use the litter box, they may not need to go back in the crate after awhile.

Here is a really great video that has some tips on socializing feral kittens.  The video starts with their rescue and moves forward.  The Gerber Stage 2 chicken/turkey baby food was a great tip I have used for years.  The "pet petter"  as I call it was also another great tip.

Well, the kittens are all settled into their new digs.  Dusty decided it was a good idea to lay in the clean litter box.  They have used it since and tossed litter all over the place.  I moved the box to the far end of the cage and the food by the door because they managed to get litter in their food and water.   I've been going in and sitting next to the crate, and I opened the door and gave them a few toy balls, and Minnie and Dusty seemed very interested - they make eye contact and give me long blinks and even let me touch their paws.  They are batting the balls and then hugging them.  The orange girl is very shy and has just been cowering in the back - she has hissed at me a couple of times.  Poor little thing!

I'm worried about the outside baby.  He/she left with mama down the street after dinner last night, and neither of them showed up for breakfast.  Mom finally showed up this afternoon but no sign of baby.  They haven't been separated since she came back and haven't missed a meal, so of course I'm worried something happened to the little one.
