Some of you may remember me from last year when my cat had kittens, but heres the situation. My cat is a 3 year old female who was spayed 2-3 weeka ago in a free cat clinic with about 30 to 40 other cats on the same area. This past few weeks post her spay, she has been showing pregnancy sign. Her nipples have really enlarged and pink and she has been very vocal and grooming herself much more then usual, all the same signs of her last pregnancy. She eats like an elephant. She seems more round her stomach like her last litter too.

My first theory is that she was pregnant before befor her spayed and somehow, her kittens survived.

Second is that the vet forgot to spay her since there were more than 30 cats in a mobile spaying clinic, and somehow they thought they spayed her. They do this thing in my city were they have free mobile spaying clinics for anybody with an unfixed cat along with other vaccines.
Or maybe its just her hormones from from her body changing? My other female cat was spayed last year and she didnt have any of these signs or behaviors.

I looked it up, and this vet said sometimes a female cats tubes can be tied, but only one could have been tied and she still could have gotten pregnant and could give birth to healthy kittens, chances are pretty rare though. Her incision was very tiny, but she has that tattoo to indicate she was fixed. I cant really afford a vet, but she is very healthy, has been eating right. Anything helps, thanks

All of my cats are fixed in the house, my male fixed cat the offspring of the one that might be pregnant ran away too, so there was no way that it was one of my cats that impregnated her. Ill try to post a pic soon of her

In a normal spay, the uterus and ovaries are all removed, no chance of pregnancy or surviving kittens. I see no reason a spay clinic wouldn't do a normal spay. You can give them a call and ask if they do anything odd like ovariectomy instead of a normal spay. Also ask them what their procedure is for making sure all the cats get spayed (most places count the bits they have at the end of the day to make sure it all matches up). I mean, even if it's a free clinic, you're still a customer and they still need to do what they say they're going to do. So give 'em a call, see what they say.

Can you take a picture of her belly? At 2-3 weeks post-op, you can still see the spay scar from surgery.

It is possible for a female to lactate after a spay. It's possible that having the baby kitten around triggered her hormones and, this, has resulted in her producing some milk.

Exactly! As catpack catpack said, her hormones may have her nursing this kitten. Is she nursing?

It should be obvious if her belly is shaved and if she has an incision next to the tattoo. What can you see?

Please check so we can sort this out.

If she was recently spayed, you should be able to clearly see an incision scar in addition to the tattoo.

If not, she was not spayed and is likely pregnant. If she is, you need to let the place where you took her know. They owe you a free spay once her kittens wean.

How's the new kitten doing?

The past two days she hasnt let the kitten nurse her, or very little. We only got the kitten less then a week ago.
