Split nail

Should I pull the broken part off? While she was sleeping I was going to cut her nails then I noticed 2 split nails, I don't know if she is shedding them or she caught it on something. They are both on the back paws. Thanks

It's hard to tell from the pictures but does the bit that's come away look sort of clearish? Kind of like a husk? If so this is normal, she's just shedding the outer layer of claw. If you have a cat scratcher it will probably come off next time she scratches her feet. If the actual nail is split I would get it checked. You don't want an infection.

No problem. If it's just the husky bit that's normal You can probably give it a small tug and it will likely come off but they do get them off themselves either by chewing or using a scratcher.
