I have an almost 7yr old tabby. My husband and I have noticed recently that she does this weird shaky meow. If I get to her in time I've seen her quiver or her hair on ends. I'm not sure what's wrong with her. I know it's not chattering. the times where she's made the weird sound aren't very often but lately I've noticed it happening more. She's usually just sitting somewhere and out of no where it happens. The other day she was just sleeping in the sink and it happened. It startled her as I could hear her knock down a cup. She appears fine after a couple of seconds and back to her usual self. She's a very sweet cat. I'm worried she's experiencing seizures of some kind or that she has some neurological disease.

I am sorry no one more experienced has gotten back to you.

To me, it sounds like a seizure. I think a Vet visit is in order.

Could you possibly video this action, so the Vet can see it while it is happening?

I think that would be very helpful.

At 7 years old, she is still young, but seizures can happen at any age.

Good Luck...

((hugs))

It's difficult to record it because it happens so suddenly and doesn't last more than a few seconds. Usually by the time I hear her and get to her, it's already stopped. But I should take her to the vet. I get scared for her [emoji]128542[/emoji]

I agree, it sounds like a potential seizure, especially if it's waking her from sleep. I have no experience with this but a checkup when we notice new things is always a good idea. It might be something minor and treatable.
