I'm glad the kitten is okay. Sometimes moms do not feed them right away if they are still laboring and have more kittens to deliver. Do you think she has more?

Otherwise, continue putting him to a nipple to see if she will let him nurse.

Do you have a small syringe or dropper? Do you have an egg, honey, mayonnaise, or yogurt? I can help you make something to give the kitten if necessary.

Okay. Gently pull to help her deliver the kitten. Very gently. This explains why she is not feeding the first baby yet.

Keep me posted.

Yes, it sounds like she does need to go to the vet. If they end up needing to give her a c-section I would recommend they spay at the same time.

Yes, kitten needs to come out or it can die in the birth canal. Glad you are heading to the vet.

Do you have the first kitten with you?

Please keep us posted!

He should get the hang of it soon. The vet can give you some kitten formula and a syringe.

Are you at the vet yet?

What a sweetie! [emoji]128149[/emoji]

Mom had 2 shots of oxytocin to help bring on labor. Hopefully it will work. Are you to bring her back for a c-section if it does not work? Does the vet think there are still live kittens to be born? They must come out eventually.

I think that mom will be a good mom when she is no longer in pain and distracted by labor and kittens pressing upon her. Right now, she is unable to care for the kitten. It's likely just her current state causing this.

Regardless, the kitten needs feeding 1-2 mLs every hour around the clock. It gets easier to feed as you and the kitten get used to doing it.

Feed tummy down, head up, a drop or two in the side of the mouth at a time. Let the kitten swallow, breathe, and go again. You want to be careful that the kitten does not aspirate formula into his lungs. If you have trouble, wrap the kitten in a towel like a burrito to immobilize him while feeding. Again, it gets easier.

How is mom doing?

We're here for you!

Shes pushing slightly again.. nothingyet.he didnt say to bring her back unless serious problems occur but they said an emergency c section will cost overa thousand pounds. I simply dont ha e the money so they said id have to euthanize her whilst still pregnant.I got very upset
