It seems like this is the year for all of my cats to get some sort of weird health issue...this time, it's my almost 14 months old boy Macek, whom I took in as a feral kitten last August. He seems overall in great shape - he's a big, tall boy of 13lbs and an absolute delight! But to the point: I just discovered this weird area on his left hind leg; not sure how long it's been there as it was covered by hair and it's not a part of his body that I touch very often - it's kind of on the caudal side of his thigh. I'm attaching a couple of pics since it's hard to describe - the whole thing is about a finger long and it feels as if there is something underneath his skin or something? Could this be a parasite, or a foreign body?? there is a quarter-sized slightly raised area on the one end. It doesn't seem to be itchy or bother him in any way; the skin is slightly red but not extremely so. Does anyone have an idea what this might be, has anyone had this with one of their cats?? I'll most likely take him in tomorrow but would like to get some info if possible - I've already shown it to a good friend of mine who is a vet, and she said she had absolutely no idea what this could be!!!
Thanks in advance for your replies

You showed it to a Vet and she had no idea and that was it?   Strange.  I have no idea, but I'm not a Vet   Thankfully it doesn't bother him.  I wonder if perhaps it's scar tissue?  anyway, you got me

She's my friend and came to my house, so just took a quick peek - not a proper exam. Plus, I hadn't shaved the area yet so very hard to see anything (I would have never even noticed it if I hadn't felt it!)

Will take him in tomorrow to hopefully get more answers...I am tempted to try and cut it open a tiny bit to see if there's something under the skin because that's what it feels like!!

Others have been saying might be Eosinophilic Granuloma...argh......

OMG, cut it open?  Your cat must be VERY gentle or you must be very brave.  But, really, to what end?  If you find there is something under there, then what are you going to do?

EG would be an open sore, I believe.  I've never seen it like your picture, and normally it would bother the cat too, I'm thinking.
