Good they will be separated.

Did you put their food, water, and litter in with them? 10 hours is a long time for them! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Some food, water and a mini litterbox. I'm at work and already wishing I could go back home. Pixie is a little rough with her kittens when grabbing them. She puts their head in her mouth, or bites their tails and drags them across the floor

Sadly no... I'm not sure what to do about it either. When I separated them to see how she grabs them, she always grabs them with the kittens whole head in her mouth. I'm scared to come home and one died from a broken neck

Let's hope everything will be okay! Hopefully, mom is beginning to calm down some now.

Got home all three cats here. Move the kittens to watch the mother and now she picking them up by the gut. She calm but when they cry she grabs them by the meaty area.

I'm glad they did okay while you worked. I think you should not move the kittens to see how mom responds.

Time will tell if she has another kitten to deliver.

Well she's weird. If I pet her and keep the kittens laying against me, she cuddles with me. If she starts grooming them she's fast and rough. If one cries she goes nuts and tries to fit their whole head in her mouth and tries to go to her corner. I managed to get them fed a little last night before I head to the store to get some formula. Last night I fell asleep with the 4 of them cuddled with me. I think she felt better I had the male put away. Then I let her take her kittens (when she grabbed them right) and run to her corner. The didn't screamas much when she grabbed her this time

Why are you taking them out of her corner? I don't think you should be moving them from where she feels comfortable. Mom shouldn't need to move them.

It's good that you have the male away.

I had moved them so they get fed.. She rolls up and the kittens cants reach her nipples. But I will stop. She leaves her kittens to come cuddle with me.. Should I ignore her so she goes back to her kittens if she's gone too long?

I'm sorry I have so many questions..

Mom should be in a nest area where she can stretch out and feed the kittens. In your case, if she's most comfortable in that corner, I would put blankets there. If she's coming to visit you while the kittens are asleep, that's fine. You just want to make sure she's going back when they cry.

Weighing the kittens every day is the only way to be sure that they are thriving.

How long is she leaving them to cry?

A kitchen scale would work!

For about 5-15 minutes. She hears them, perks up then continues doing what she's doing. It's not too long but she comes across as one of those cool human Moms who let's her kids do whatever but have the one rule

See that she returns to her kittens immediately to feed them when they cry.

In what room is this corner?

Do you now have a scale and kitten formula?

I was gonna ask what formula Ishould get. She's getting much, much more used to her kittens. She still rolls over when we sees us and lays on them but..
I was home all day and helped Pixie nurse the kittens. After a while she began to to it herself. She sleeps with them all night.. The dad isn't interested in the kittens yet. Maybe she's kept them hidden really well.. But when would be safe for him to sniff them or meet them if he changes his mind? How much should the kittens be gaining? Is there a such a thing as too much weight?

Glad it is all going well. A powdered formula kitten replacement milk that you make up with water is the best. You can buy it at Walmart or pharmacies or vets. Here is an article about weighing kitens

[article="33289"][/article]

On the dad, it is good he is not interested. You must realise that he does not understand that these are his kittens - usually the male's sole interest is in getting the female pregnant again. Even if he becomes one of the unusual males who like and play gently with kittens, it is not because he recognises them as his. So I would keep him away for as long as possible and certainly until he is neutered.
