So a few months ago a kitten we found went through her first heat cycle. I kept the make separated when I could and after about a week she stopped calling, so I assumed her first cycle had ended. Turns out it ended because my cats are like sneaky teenagers. She's pretty big, her stomach is solid and she makes at random (I read that was from the pain.. I know how it is I'm 28 weeks pregnant too) Her nipple are large, but there isn't any milk yet. I've seen the kittens move, and my cat Pixie is bipolar. The past few days she's like, screw you I don't need nobody,to OMG I LOVE YOU WHERE DID YOU GO IS MY NOSE COLD ON YOIR FACE AND YOUR NOSE?!
My question is, how long do you think I have to prepare?

She sounds like she could have kittens almost any day now. It's hard to know for sure, but since her belly is hard, she is getting very close. Perhaps another week or so.

Do you have a nest set up for her in a private, quiet place such as a bedroom?

You'll want to keep your male cat away once the kittens are born.

Do you plan to spay and neuter your cats after this litter?

Well I share an open townhouse with other ppl.. I love downstairs so I was thinking giving her the closet? For how long should I keep the dad from the kittens? And I have a large cardboard box with an old soft blanket ready to be stashed

Giving her the closet is a great idea.

Ideally dad should be fixed now.  He will still be fertile for a month or so after his surgery, and mom will be able to get pregnant again within a week of delivering.  You will not want to let dad around the kittens for the first month or so anyway, so this is a great time to have him neutered and get this all out of the way.

Mom can be spayed once the kittens are 8 weeks old.  It's important to spay her as well for health reasons.  With each heat cycle, females are at increased risk of pyometria and reproductive cancers.  They are also quite uncomfortable.

He needs to stay away from mom until he is neutered, and mom needs to be spayed when the kittens are 8 weeks old.

The closet sounds good. You'll want her food, water, and litter box nearby, so she doesn't have to leave her kittens for long to take care of her business.

Is she getting plenty of kitten chow and wet cat food?

You know the week she mated. A cat pregnancy is 65-68 days. So you should be able to work out the due date within a few days. As for food, wet food would be much better for her now and eventually for the kittens when they are ready to try solids. If you can change it over, slowly at first by mixing it, it would be a good idea.

I guess it's not time. Is she eating and behaving normally?

Yeah.. She's doing everything she normally does.she spends a little more time in bed with me though. She now stays the whole night from the time I got to sleep to when I wake up

Look at that!  Can you move them to a nest?  Or move a nest to that corner?  Nice of mom to ignore all the areas you've set up!
