helloooo guy! I'm new here :) I'm just wondering when will my cat go into labour. She's 63 days pregnant today and her temperature dropped to 36.5 degrees but she's still eating a lot and playing a lot! I'm not sure if her tummy have already dropped?

Any replies will be really appreciated! :)

Welcome to TCS!

Most cats deliver between days 65-68, so she may have a few days to go. She's getting closer though! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Is she Siamese? If so, she may carry 70-72 days. Siamese tend to have longer pregnancies than other cats. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

I'm still new so I've no idea how to do direct replies! Sorry for it [emoji]128517[/emoji] Yes she's a Siamese :) Oh really? I'm getting so impatient now!!
this is daddy.

and this is mummy.

As a cat lover, I'm sad to say that cookie (mama) is only 8 months old. My boyfriend didn't want to neuter them as he thinks it's cruel. So the kittens will be up for adoptions :)

Are they both purebreds? Do you have papers?

Are they his cats or yours?

It's a shame she's so young. It's really hard on them.

She needs to be spayed after this litter or she will be back to back pregnant, which is not good at all. [emoji]128533[/emoji]

It's not cruel, it's kind to spay & neuter. Your boyfriend is misguided. Please read this article:

Their babies will be beautiful! But of course, as you realise, she is very young to be having kittens and you must be prepared to intervene if necessary. Assuming the delivery goes well, her instincts may not kick in immediately. Get some KMR and a bottle, as well as some needleless syringes so you have feeding options if necessary. And a scale that weighs in grams so you can weigh the babies every day to make sure they are gaining weight.

With the dad on the premises the mom could come into heat again very quickly, and the last thing you want for her poor body is her pregnant again within weeks. So you must decide what to do - but you will definitely need to keep them separated. Neutering is not at all cruel - in fact it is a kindness we can do for our pets so they avoid infections, worn-out bodies and the exhaustion of 2-3 litters a year. Males don't get injured fighting, and both sexes are free of the raging hormones that torment them and drive their behaviour. Does your boyfriend have any specific reason for thinking it cruel?

Yes they are pure breeds and we have the papers :) Its both of ours. Yes the vet advised us to spray it too. I am gonna talk to him again about this issue soon. I have been staying home since Saturday because during our last vet visit, the vet said she might have some complications due to being a young mummy.... well lets hope for the best!!! :)

Let's hope she does well, but I see that the vet shares our concerns.

This needs to be her only litter, and she and the dad need de-sexing. They will be healthier and happier pets for it!

Do you plan to register the kittens?

Mom can get pregnant again within a week of delivery and without going into heat. It's not safe for your cats to be together at all. Life with two intact cats is miserable. If you want them to be able to interact at all they need to be fixed.

Since your cats are purebred and have papers, that means they are officially "registered" with a breeders' association for Siamese cats.

This means that your kittens will be purebred, but to get papers on them stating this (which you should), means you'll need to register the kittens. This involves supplying documentation on the parents and kittens to the same organization where the parents are registered.

You will be able to sell your kittens for a price, as such, but you need to find proper homes.

Please check the papers for your cats. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

i get what you mean now :) i bought this two for around 2000 swiss franc... but we r not planning to sell the kittens, we will leave it up for adoptions (so that we could reject if someone wants to take it) because we want to help them to find a good familyyyyyy :)

hmm will it be a pity if i don't register the kittens? it cost a lot here in Switzerland!

and i don't know how true is it... i have heard some people saying that pure breeds cats r actually not good as they will be more prone to more sickness than mixed breeds. chorizo (my male cat) had an "eye infection" three times before... its like.... his eyes were cloudy? it obvious that one of his eye looked more yellowed than the other side of the eye, when we visited the vet, the answered we got over and over again was his third eyelid appeared and with some eye drops he will be fine... but now he is fine :)

It would be a pity. You would get some of your investment back if they are registered and sold.

Even if you sell them, you still retain final control over who gets the kittens. You would take applications and check up on people, their vets, their other pets, all kinds of things, before making a sale. Just because someone offers does not mean they automatically qualify for a kitten.

But you can re-home without registering as well. It's your personal choice.

Do you know how many kittens she is carrying?
