How do you deal with kitten dragging his food all over the kitchen floor? I tried a mat under his plate but he drags it off that as well. Kind of tiresome to have to clean the floor after every meal! Also, should I be worried about him walking around on the raw meat residue and then spreading throughout the house and furniture? Or cuddling with his humans after eating? What's the safest way to disinfect?

I am really interested to see if anyone else has helpful tips here.  I have a cat that does this with dry food and I have yet to find a solution.  I feel bad for you having this issue with raw food.  I changed to a bigger bowl and am getting less of a mess and now he only drops it in the floor in my powder room where the food bowl is. I sweep the floor every day.  I used to keep the bowl in my kitchen but it was winding up all over my entire lower level.

I am sorry I do not have any helpful tips. The only thing I can think of to try is putting it on a flat plate in case the issue is related to the bowl itself.  I tried this but it did not work for me.

My cat does this. He takes the food in his mouth right from the bowl and carries it to another area to eat, dropping it on the floor. I think it's instinctive nature whereby the car would eat in what they perceive as a safe area where no other cat can get at it. I used to do a lot of cleaning up after him, but thought it was kind of cute.

It really is a kind of instinctive thing and raw food may even push the instinct buttons even more.

How about just having a designated feeding space that easy to clean (bathroom, laundry etc) if he eats in one session?

I use bicarb and vinegar with a splash of eucalyptus in a spray bottle to clean up.

Sorry, is bicarb the same as baking soda? Whats the ratio of the mix? And eucalyptus is for scent?
