Hello! This is Whiskey and she's about 3 months old. She's a mix of white, gray, and a bit of orange. I got her from a breeder around a month ago who claimed that she (Whiskey) is a persian cat. However, after seeing my cat, certain friends and family members have been convinced that she isn't a persian. So here I am, in need of your opinions. Thank you so much!

I paid $500 for a Persian about 23 years ago that looked almost like her at a pet store---my old kitty, he was a maine coon named Puddy, had just been pts due to feline leukemia, and I was distraught at the thought of going in to an empty house (there is no way I would ever do that/spend that these days, my last 3 were rescues, but I figured I saved Mousie from a lifetime in a cage for breeding purposes).  I always wondered if they sold him cheapo to the pet store because he didn't meet the standard appearance.

I always doubted that Mousie was 100% Persian, but he did have a ton of the characteristics.  It didn't matter, I wasn't going to breed him, I just fell in love with him in that pet store window.  He was the sweetest, gentlest kitty.  We lost him sadly in a house fire in 1994 and I cried for months and months, and still want to right now writing about him.

Did you get paperwork?  Mousie was CFA registered as Persian and I got a copy of his pedigree, even though he didn't have the traditional appearance as most people expect when you say Persian.  I often wondered if his mama got bred by another cat other than the one listed on his pedigree.  I really didn't care, he was my precious sweetheart.

His fur was so fine and matted easily though that I had to take him regularly for grooming.  He grew to love his groomer.  They used to joke that he wouldn't get out of the bath and would sleep while the big dryer was on him (I actually saw this!)

I hope Whiskey brings you a full kitty lifetime of joy!  She is beautiful!!

Her color is actually diluted tortoise - and possibly some white, although I dont see the spots clearly.  Some around eyes doesnt count.

So the colors will be named as blue and creme.

She looks as if she could become a Maine Coon look alike.  We will see more when she is adult - and also, if she is biggish.

She is verry sweet!

ps. Persian?  I dont think so, not even old type persian.  But if she is a mix, there may of course be some persian ancestry - although I dont think  very recent.

ps 2 - yeah, there seems to be a white spot under the chin.  Unless its a very light creme spot, of course.   :)
