I have done some research and it has been an hour since she delivered the sac of water, there is no sign of kittens yet though.... All I see when she contracts is another sac of water that seems to be smaller, but she is having a hard time pushing it out, I know that this is for sure not the kitten.

Such seems peculiar, but apparently it does happens now and then.   We have also a forumit at this moment,  where the water broke almost two days before the delivery. No problems with delivery.   Its because the kittens they are in their own sacks, so they arent totally depending on swimming in the water.

Still, her real delivery is apparently very soon.

What you dont want, is active fruitless labor a long time.  Cats active labor is typically shorter than humans.  But prelabor may take its time.

She is continuing to strain with no kitten in sight, but i can feel one entering the canal. I think she may have given up though as she seems very worn out and tired. Is this a bad thing?

If there is a kitten in the canal it will need to be pushed out.

If she is pushing and not making any progress for longer than 30 minutes or so that's an emergency. How long has that been going on?

She will need to begin pushing and get the kitten out when it's ready. She should be able to do it.

If it's been an hour of her pushing and the kitten isn't out... She needs a vet visit. The contractions may be moving the kitten into position. If she's pushing without progress though, that's when you worry.

If she's been staining for this long without producing the kitten, I'd at the very least call my vet. Let them know the situation in case you need to rush her in.

Is she pushing, or just contracting?

And yes, alert your vet, or be prepared to take her in.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this. I'm sorry to say that the vet was unable to do anything to help her or the kittens and the kindest, most humane thing to do for her was to put her down. I am very torn up and broken about this and cant help but feel a little responsible, I don't know how but I do. She was a great cat for the time that I had her, but it was time to say goodbye after only a month of hellos. Rest peacefully Charcoal, you will be missed.

The amniotic sac around the kittens had broken inside the uterus so they died and the strain of her trying to push without that lubrication around the kittens was too much stress and so the vet thought it would be best to put her out of her misery and pain.

I'm very sorry to hear this. You must be in shock.

Was her uterus damaged? Could it have been removed during a spay?

In fact, did the vet give her a c-section and come out and tell you what was wrong and then give you your options! Or was there an x-ray?

I'm not sure I fully understand why she was put down.
