Hello everyone!
This is my first time using this site so sorry if I make a mistake. Anyways, I have adopted a cat from a friend and it turns out she is pregnant. She seems to be very pregnant but I don't know when she went into heat. So, I have been doing lots and lots of research and she is producing milk, has been for like a week, and I have been able to feel them for two weeks moving around in there. She is pregnant with only two so she is not getting huge, but you can tell that she is in the final stages. She is nesting and all of that stuff but no contractions.Everyday I wake up, I think that today is the day, but it never is. I am having a really hard time waiting and I just want to know when she is due, if any of you can help me!
Thank You!

(P.S. I adopted the cat not knowing she was pregnant and when I found out, I found homes immediately for them and am going to get mom and the two babies spayed/neutered!)

Hi and welcome to TCS!

If you've been feeling the babies for 2 weeks and she has milk now, she's probably due in the next week or so.

Do you have a nest for her in a quiet, private place? Is she getting plenty of kitten chow, wet food, and water?

How do you know she only has 2 kittens?

We'd love to see a picture of her!

Keep us posted! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

@sarthur2

Thank you for your reply! This is great news, I will be waiting anxiously!!

I have given her a nice nesting box in an enclosed room, keeping her in there for about an hour or two a day so she gets used to it. She always has fresh, clean, easily accessible water and is getting kitten chow (wet and dry) along with her normal food.

I should have been more clear, I BELIEVE she has two kittens because i can feel their little skulls moving around and a kick, I may be wrong but she isn't getting huge so I take it that means it will be a small litter?

My friend said that she went into heat about 8 or 9 weeks ago so that is another reason why I am so on edge!

I'll post a pic when I figure out how to hahaha!

It does sound like a small litter. It will be a surprise though!

Use the photo icon that looks like a mountain and a moon for pictures. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Thank you! @sarthur2

What are the earliest symptoms of labor that I will begin to see? I have read up on everything, but I still feel as though I am ill prepared. Is there anything else I should know?

Restlessness, lots of nipple and vulva licking, meowing, nesting, discharge, and ripple-like contractions in her belly. [emoji]128077[/emoji]

Be advised you may see some of this days before actual labor.

She's a year and a half, I did not choose to breed her though. I just adopted her about a month ago from a friend, when I saw her as a kitten I knew I had to have her, how could you say no to that face?

If she was under a year I was going to suggest you start giving her KMR so she has enough nutrients in her body for herself and her kittens.  She is a cutie and I glad she found you.

Do you think I still should? Or is it too late to start that? I mean if she is going to have them like tomorrow is it really worth putting her on it for a day?

She will need the calcium more than ever when she is nursing. Calcium depletion can cause seizures.

She has started!!!!!!!! I went to go get the KMR and when I came back she had this balloon like sac that was filled with a clear fluid. Since then, she has had five to six contractions about every three minutes! How long until the kittens now?

Wow!

She's getting closer. Be patient. It shouldn't be too long.
