My cat has a small cut on one of her front paws. The vet hospital suggested trying this kitty litter so to avoid her getting litterbox material on her paw. The one I normally used -- the purina one -- might have some strange stuff in it: if my cat jumps on my bare back, where her paws were will get reddish as in a rash.

So I bought a bag and I  cannot say I am pleased. She could not cover her poop easily, it would not clump around it, and does not go through
the holes in my scoop.  I have not seen how it works with urine, but right now I am open for suggestions for an alternative product.

You are using the pelletized Yesterdays News, and there is a granulated form as well which clumps and would go through your scooper.  However,I would suggest sWheatScoop, which is very soft litter made of wheat.  It is not inexpensive but it lasts a long time and most cats like it.  You can find it in most supermarkets as well as pet stores.

I have used yesterday's news for years and I love it because it doesn't track and it's environmental. It is not good for multiple cat house because it can't dry at all in between uses which makes it last long and your right about tbe scoop.Where I live most stores carry original some the softer texture. Never seen a clumping version of YN although a similar pine litter comes in both.
But she may not of covered because it was so different feeling. Changing litter is hard for some kittens.
I went from clay to clumping bamboo to yesterday for a older cat that recently joined us.
