Hi
So I'm not sure if I'm just panicking to much or if I should be worried Zelda
Is around 7 weeks and has had her first round of shots and de-worming after this i noticed a single drop of blood in her stool I called the vet and they told me not to worry it's just the new diet and de-worming well last night I noticed another drop she doesn't meow or anything when she uses the litter box eats well and is very active also there is no bloating her eyes are bright and clear and no running nose
So am I overreacting to this ? Or should I take her to another vet ? Oh also the vet has tested her stool
Thanks for any help

I wish I could be of more help, but I've no experience with this, but if she had worms that might be the culprit.  Hopefully someone with more experience will come along soon.

hi--sorry to hear this about the little girl.  i think your vet is probably right, but i also think you're right to wonder about it.  if you can, try to keep track of what food she eats/how much, her water intake, and her litter box deposits.  IF you see blood in her stool again, i recommend getting a sample.  (i know--gross.  try using a sandwich-type bag.  pick up the sample using the bag as a 'glove,' then pull the bag right-side out again, and seal.  put in the refrigerator until/if you take it to the vet.)

also, check this thread--Please we need help, my kitten is vomiting bile and blood..

it's about halfway down the first page in Cat Health.  we've been discussing that for awhile, and i've pulled up some pages about blood in vomit.  many of those also talk about blood in the stool, which is why i'm directing you to the thread.  so you can check out some of the links and see if they might give you some help.

here's something--if it's one drop, meaning, one drop that you can see ON her poo, that means it's "coming out" when she's pooping; if she was bleeding inside her intestinal track, it would be mixed in with the stool.  (if she was JUST passing blood, that's something else again.)  you could look up Hematochezia on wikipedia.  compare that to Melena.  but don't let the info freak you out!  i guess i'd recommended reading the pages because the Hema page says one of the most likely causes is hemorrhoids.  an internal hemorrhoid could be caused by her diet change, and would likely show as painless, bright red drops when pooping.  and they usually heal on their own.  make sure she has plenty of fresh water.  maybe put out a couple more bowls of water about the house to encourage her to drink a bit more.  that might help.

Thank you so much ^_^
I'll be sure to check that thread out

She keeps to a schedule of sorts she'll sleep for close to two hours then eat and drink right after waking up then play hard she typically has a BM about an hour after eating she pees often and drinks often too

When I saw the blood it was bright red and on top of the stool the stool is also a light brown color it's a little watery but mainly solid
I'm sorry about this just the last time I had to take one of my cats to the vet for a medical problem they overdosed him and he had to stay at the animal Hospital for awhile

Keep an eye on it and keep us posted. Hopefully it's just from his deworming and you will not see it again.

Blood in the stool can be indicative of serious issues, but no need to panic as the kitten sounds healthy otherwise!

Keep us posted!
