My cat had 6 kittens 5 days ago and 3 of them are suddenly missing since last night. They were in my son's room, where there is really no hiding spots, except underneath his, bed, and we discovered on 3 kittens and mama left this afternoon. Cannot find them anywhere and we've torn this house apart. Very worried about these babies. What do we do?

You can try playing kitten sounds near the mom on a smart phone and see if she goes to check on them.

No to our knowledge she hasn't left the room but that doesn't mean that one of my kids let her out and she moved 3 kittens and got back in which seems so unlikely but what other explaination could there be? THe kittens are nowhere and there aren't any hiding places in my sons room?

The only other option is that mom ate them.  This can happen if she feels unsafe or senses that something is wrong with the babies.

Can you tell us a bit more about your situation?  Are you a breeder?  I tried to look over your posting history to get a sense but looked like you maybe had another user name at one point?

In any event, hopefully you can ask your kids about whether mom went anywhere!

but wouldn't there be some sort of evidence left behind? Blood bones something? I am not a breeder just someone who took in a kitty who got pregnant. There is no place for her to hide in that room and we've searched everywhere else in the house.

You may see something in the litter box.

Where is mama cat now?

How old is your son?

This must be very upsetting for you. I'm so sorry.

Is there a bed in the room?  Sometimes the moms find a hole in the fabric and try to make a nest inside it.
