OK, if I am understanding your post correctly.. your cats are urinating indoors, not the box.. and trying to get outside?

If so-- are your cats spayed and neutered?

How long ago did you get the cats? Did you do proper introductions? Sounds like they were not properly introduced and defending themselves and territory.

check out this article on introducing cats:

I can understand why you are so frustrated.   As I see it, you’ve got three problems.
  1. Your female cat is peeing where she shouldn’t.
  2. Your male cat (Oscar?) is always trying to get outside.
  3. Oscar sometimes attacks your female cat.
Both of your cats are altered and have always been indoor cats but you are getting to the point where you are thinking of letting them go outside.  You are worried the female cat won’t do well outside, though.

1.  Starting with your female cat peeing where she shouldn’t…  How many litter boxes do you have?  Some cats  don’t like to share litter boxes so it’s generally recommended that you have one litter box per cat plus one extra.   That means you should have three – two at the very least.

There is a product that helps encourage cats to use their litter box.  It’s called Dr. Elsey’s cat attract litter and many of our members have had very good results with it.   Their website is:

http://preciouscat.com/product/

It’s also essential that you use an enzyme based cleaner like Nature’s Miracle when you clean up after her.  The enzymes will break down the molecules in the urine so there is no smell for her sensitive nose to pick up.  Cats have a more sensitive sense of smell than humans and if she can smell it, she will keep going back there, thinking it’s okay.

Here’s the website for Nature’s Miracle, but there are a lot of other enzyme cleaners out there to clean up cat pee.

Also read the following link on cat litter box problems for some more insight into this problem and some ideas to take care of it.

This post is a bit long so I'll write a second post in a bit to address your other two concerns.

hi i have 2 littler boxes in diff parts of the front room. always used the same cat littler. theres 2 weeks in age between them and they got on great apart from him having a go at her on the odd occasion. think shes more wary of him now. i did try 3 but they never used the other one so took it away. i put things on the couch lastnight again where shes been peeing including a beanbag, and the dirty bugger peed on it. good job its faux leather was a big puddle. tried all sorts she stops then starts doing it agai. i bought some of that special cleaner and have been using that. god knows whats going on but peeing all over a beanbag is really pushing her luck x

One thing you should do is take her to the vet to be checked for a urinary tract infection (UTI.)  These often cause cats to avoid their litter box.  While you are at the vet, you could ask about a short term of medication.  Some of our members have been able to get litter box problems under control by giving their cats either an antidepressant or an anti-anxiety medication.

Medication is usually a last resort and there are other anti-anxiety aids available. Two of the best are Feliway http://www.feliway.com/us/#redirected and Composure.  http://www.vetriscience.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=9008103030  Feliway sold as a diffuser or spray while Composure is available as treats or liquid drops.  These involve more natural methods of calming anxious cats than using medication.

Turning to Oscar's problems:

2. You mentioned that Oscar is always trying to get outside.  There are two ways to help with this.  You can increase Oscar's stimulation inside and you can try taking him on walks.

To increase Oscar's stimulation inside, he should have toys and play time .  It sounds like he is pretty young so he is probably still full of energy and needs a good work-out every day.  One of the best toys for this purpose is Da Bird.  It's a wand toy with bird feathers at the end and most cats can not resist it.  Your female cat should also enjoy it.

See our review at:  http://www.thecatsite.com/products/da-bird-cat-toy

Another toy you can try is a laser pointer.  Although not all cats are interested in the red dot, those that are can get a great work-out with it.  Here's the one I use but there are plenty on the market.

http://www.thecatsite.com/products/...al-flash-light-with-red-laser-water-resistant

You don't have to spend a lot of money on cat toys.  It's possible to turn almost anything into a toy for a cat.  Just google "Home made cat toys" and you'll get thousands of hits. Here are some ideas to start you off.

https://www.worldsbestcatlitter.com/clearing-the-air/2014/03/the-10-best-homemade-cat-toys/

Always end a play session by giving your cat some treats.  This is important because toys like the laser printer and Da Bird are like chasing prey so he needs to feel he's caught something.

You can also start taking Oscar for a walk.  This article will give you a lot of information on how to go about that.
[article="22430"]Harness And Leash Training For Cats  [/article]
3. Dealing with Oscar's aggression towards your female cat (what is her name?)  You can try reintroducing them, as @Draco  has described in post #2.. Here is another article that should be helpful.
[article="32680"]How To Successfully Introduce Cats The Ultimate Guide  [/article]
You can also make use of the calming aids mentioned at the top of this post.

Feliway is based on natural pheromones emitted by cats when they are content and happy.  The diffusers might be best for your situation but they are expensive.  Amazon usually has the cheapest prices but shop around for this.  It's important to know that each diffuser only covers 700 - 900 square feet so you may need more than one, depending on how large your house is.  It also might take awhile before you start to notice an effect so be patient.

Composure contains herbs and amino acids known to work as calming agents.  You can either give them as treats or put drops of water in with Oscar's food.

These calming agents don't work on every cat, but many of our members have had excellent results with them so they are certainly worth trying.

You will also need to teach Oscar that he is not to attack your female cat.  When he does so, separate them and put him on a time out.  This can be in another bedroom or the bathroom.  The following article will give you some more information on behavior modification in cats.
[article="32493"]The Dos And Donts Of Cat Behavior Modification  [/article]
Good luck.  I know this is a lot of information so feel free to write in and ask questions.  Hopefully you can get these problems under control so that you can have a peaceful home again.

What tests did the vet run? Did they do both a urinalysis and a urine culture? Was she urinating outside the box at the time that the vet saw her? (I know she has had this issue on and off, you want to take her to the vet for these tests when she is actively having accidents.)

Are there stray cats around your property?

hi just a update and after some advice again, just cleaned 3 lots off wee up again of the floor couch and on a beanbag, and she pooed on the floor this morning as a extra bonus. nothing has changed routine wise, put things on the couch to stop her peeing there ages ago and now shes doing it in other places. my house stinks of cat pee. does anyone know roughly how much the tests are in the uk for a water test, i honestly dont think its that though esp with her pooing on the floor now too. really at the end of my tether after this today and seriously thinking of getting rid of her as i cant cope anymore, but who would want a cat that pees all over. shes a loving sweet cat apart from this but i honestly have tried everything but ive got the grankids to think of too when they come and my house stinks like a cat loo. x
