Hello again!

For those who may not have seen my previous post about a week or two ago...

I have a very special and strong bond with my 5 year old Torti- Calico female kitty named Honey Pie. We do everything together, from eating with one another sleeping together every night, and more. Somehow, ive managed to train her into coming to whistling, and she is so incredibly smart as well. I've been told many times by people that they've never met a cat as dedicated to someone as she is.

For the past 2 - 3 weeks, I had been debating on adopting a new kitten. I was worried about how my kitty would respond to having a kitten around since she has always been the center of any and all attention.

We ended up adopting a tiny black female Maine Coon mix and named her Sassie after her unique personality and attitude. She was a barn kitty and is doing incredibly well as an indoor cat. She is already litter box trained and will not sleep anywhere but on my bed.

We have 3 females, two are 5 year old indoors and the other one is around 8 years old. They have all been introduced to the new addition, and none of them are taking too kindly to her. The outdoor/indoor cat is not as big of a deal since she isn't inside much but as for the other two, I want to be able to trust the kitten home when I'm not here with them. The two have been hiding in our basement since she arrived, and HoneyPie was upstairs today watching the kitten for a while until Sassie (the kitten) wanted to play and ended up chasing her down the stairs.

It bothers me that my Honey Pie will not even step foot in my room, especially since she always used to sleep with me each night. She does seem to be warming up, however I'm just hoping things work out. Any advice? Thank you!

You didn't mention what the introductory process was like and how long it lasted, but it sounds like you're going to need to start over and take things more slowly this time. The worst thing you can do is try to rush the process. If you move too quickly the resident cats will feel like their territory is being invaded by a hostile enemy, and that's never the impression you want them to have! Here are some links with great info to get you started:
