The food is just outside the nest, is it ok to leave the dry food in the nest, or should I leave it outside the nest as well?

Just outside the nest is fine. Just line them up. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Could her behaviour be due to the fact that she isn't spayed yet, the vet said to spay her once the kittens are approximately 8 weeks. Also because we live in an apartment, there is no chance for her to go outside anyway.

No, I think she is just a young, nervous mother with normal post-pregnancy hormones. I really do think she will settle in more soon.

Thank you for your reply.

My wife was feeding Sabin today, she noticed one of the kitten was panting, would he be trying to hiss at her? The kitten is eating and sleeping properly. He's been gaining on average 13-20 grams a day.

Hi, wife of Dogtah here. The kitten was "panting" and then sneezed once at the end to be more specific.

How is the kitten now? Still sneezing or panting?

She keeps wanting to relocate the kitten. She was going somewhere high up and dropped the male kitten. I'm currently at the emergency vet because one of his eyes was closed while the other was fully opened. Any idea of what we should do about her trying to relocate?

Were both eyes fully open before?

If this is the sneezing kitten, it may have an upper respiratory infection (URI), and need antibiotics. That is contagious, if do, so wTch the other kittens.

Mom needs to be in a room with a closed door and no place up high to move the kitten(s).

Not too sure if both the eyes were opened. After the kitten was dropped one of the eye was fully opened. Just came back from the vet and said that luckily there was no head trauma that he could see. He showed a bit of swelling in the xray of the lower body.
He hasn't sneezed since. The vet said his nose was a bit runny but could be from the impact of the fall. Didn't enquire about the URI as i didn't know it.

Unfortunately the kittens is in one of our spare rooms but there are clothes rack, desk and shelf that we can't remove. We have removed other things in the room for now. She is settled into the original nesting box after my wife groomed her to calm her down.

She hasn't eaten too much food today, she barely ate 1 can of the wet food but she is eating the dry food as I type this, which is better than nothing I suppose. She does drink plenty of water though.

She moved the kitten into the corner again, I think we are just going to let her be, the other 3 kittens are in the nesting box and one of the kitten is with her in the corner. We set up other locations for her to nest in as well in the room.

The kittens are less than a week old? They really all need to be together. They can't regulate their own body temperatures.

Are any of the nests covered? She's obviously not happy with something.

She seems to prefer that corner. Can you just put the nest in that corner for now? It's very important that the entire litter remain together and with mom.

One of the nest is covered, we also set up a nesting area in a pet carrier. The size is probably for a medium sized dog so, so it fits the kittens and mother comfortably. The box she is nesting is uncovered but is under our clothes so it does offer some darkness. She tried to move the kittens to our bedroom before but can't really have her nest there otherwise we can't turn the air con on. If I close the door to the room, I'm scared it might get too hot for her as it gets pretty hot here.

The box is as close to the corner it allows right now.

Could it possibly be she doesn't like the smell of the detergent that the towels were used to wash?

They would be fine in your bedroom even with the A/C on, as long as it's not too cold. Perhaps try moving them in there for now to see if she's happier.

I'm scared to close the door of the room as it gets really hot and humid here in South Korea. At the moment she is in the box with the kittens in the other room, if she tries to move them again I will put them into our room. I'm assuming I should just move the entire box that she is nesting in to the other room? Or should we put them into a different box?
