Need Caption This forum input

A suggestion has been made in Feedback that there are too many captions to weed through on a daily basis and that perhaps the polls should be cut down to 10 or so choices.

I figure WW3 would eventually erupt all over me if I were to do the narrowing down.

As an alternate suggestion, what do you think about limiting the number of responses a member could contribute to a given CT thread?

How about allowing people to post captions for 3 days for a specific pic then vote on that after 3 days instead of letting people submit captions for a week? That might lessen the # of responses since t he pic/captions will be up shorter...

I think one per thread is plenty...two tops.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, that would entail a lot of work for me. I already devote 30 minutes to an hour a day to keep the forum updated, and I do all of this in the evenings, as I am not on the site from work during the day.

I've never known what the rules are for how many one person can post, so I've always tried to post only one to be fair. Sometimes I think of another caption so I think two is fair.

I think one per member per thread should be enough. Aside from not having to wade thru loads of captions, it gives everyone a chance to come up with a decent caption.

After taking a good look at the Caption This forum. I want to change my vote to one per person. It looks as though if it was narrowed down to two per pereson, not much would change. As it is now, most people only post one or two anyway.

You're quite right, the list of options does tend to get pretty long. I'd go with one per thread per member.

One per thread per member would be okay. If somebody thinks up a better caption after giving it more thought, they can always edit their first suggestion.

Tought I'd leave the poll up for a couple more days, since many don't visit the site on weekends.
