Hello all, I am new here. Yesterday between 4-6 pm my two month old tom cat Yoda went missing. I didn't think anything of it at first as he likes to hide, etc. Well I live in the country and I looked last night all over my property and then again today and no sign of my kitty. :( There is no sign of struggle, loose fur or anything either. His mom CoCo came to us, she just showed up one day pregnant and we think someone let her out like a sack of trash. CoCo is still here and Yoda's sister Eden who follows CoCo around like a shadow is here and fine. Yoda just recently learned to start eating big kitty food so if he just wandered off he is not helpless. These are all outdoors cats.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The outdoors is not safe for such young kittens. I'd suggest setting some humane traps and see if you catch him. It also wouldn't be a bad I'da to get some cheap trail cameras and see if you can spot Yoda.

Young kittens often fall prey to large birds (Hawks, owls, Eagles), Fox, Coyotes, etc...though I'm sure you already know this.

The other kitten should be brought indoors until she can be fully vaccinated and spayed. Then, if she needs to be an outdoor kitty, she'll at least be protected against major illness and she won't be able to reproduce.

I really hope you are able to locate Yoda. It's very scary when they get separated from mom!

Do you know what the kittens father was like? or was it like a stray? This might be it, but some farm cats (usually male) sometimes take off because of their genes. The father might have been even wild, which maybe have been passed on for the cat to wander and live on their own, I know this isn't the brightest idea, but I hope you do find your cat, cause mine just took off to yesterday with a pretty similar situation

We are not 100% sure on the dad because CoCo was already pregnant when she showed up but not long after arriving a same colored tom cat showed up and called for my CoCo like maybe to continue ur their love? He was also the same color as Yoda. If he was the dad then he is definitely wild. Eden looks like a spitting image of CoCo so maybe unfortunately Yoda took after his dad. I hope you find your kitty also.

Sending prayers and vibes that Yoda comes home soon! don't forget to check wherever any building might have been left open for awhile but closed later - kittens love to explore sheds, garages, closets, etc and often get locked in unnoticed. Has CoCo been calling him or acting restless?

Yes, the first night she sat on the porch meowing and it was like she was calling for him and pitiful. :( I went out earlier tonight and she went out to the edge of our garden and did the same kind of meow calling for him as last night. :( Yoda is a pretty gray cat with the bluest eyes you ever saw and another theory I have is that someone stole him from my front yard. They could have thought he was a stray or just flat out mean! I do seem to remember hearing a car speed off around the same time my Yoda went missing. Now we have a dirt road across the road from my house so fast cars etc. are not all that unusual but it does have me thinking. I'm not saying a wild animal didn't get Yoda but I can't see any sign of a struggle at all. This little neighborhood is pretty small and everyone knows everyone so I alerted some friends and neighbors on Facebook who said they would be on the lookout. I did some driving around earlier and my neighbors just across a spot of woods had their garage door open so I need to track them down tomorrow in case something scared my little Yoda Man and he just had to run and lost his bearings and sense of direction. I know I'm going on long but one last thing I thought about was that if some wild animal attacked him I'm almost certain CoCo would have saw and could lead me to where it all went down or worst case to Yoda's body but instead she chooses to call for him. Thank you for the prayers!

It is weird because sometimes at night while I'm outside I think I hear a meow and CoCo is right beside me and Eden is asleep or right beside me also. One place I haven't checked is a draining pipe near the old flower bed the kittens played in. CoCo goes out there right above the pipe in the driveway meowing. Other than that if Yoda was in a tree You would think I would have spotted him by now. I'm trying to stay positive and keep the faith. As weird as it sounds to say if I knew someone stole him and was treating him well I would feel a lot better.
