Help!

My 6 weeks old kitten will not eat(he ate babycat can food lastnight but he wont eat it this morning), he wont drink water(he tried it but his facial expression says he doesnt like it.) and i dont think he has used the litterbox. Im feedingnhim something different then the previous owners did.

Is he completely new to you, and this is mostly "new change difficulties"?   it so, try to entice him - and KEEP on trying, being that small he hasnt no great reserves.

Also, he seems quite small - I dont think he is full 6 weeks - if I must swear on it, I would guess on 4 weeks...  Ie barely had began to try eat something else than moms milkkk..

And thus, take a step back, off to kmr or goats milk, pronto pronto!    And begin to rebuild from there.

But if he was a heatlhy kitten, no visible problems, eating drinking etc, and suddenly one day he doesnt wanna eat nor drink - this is RED ALERT...   Do entice him to eat and drink fluids - again kmr or goats milk are hot alternatives - but its also an asap vet errand.

Please com back with further reports and further questions.

ps. does the eliminating works OK?  kittens whom are full loses appetite - alike humans do...  The symptoms may become quite drastic...

And, he almost surely being 4 weeks, not 6, he almost surely needs your help with stimulating.

Also be sure he has a heating pad.   And perhaps a stuffed animal as companion.

But if its very hot in your place - take down the heat at all costs.

ps.  Because he seems to be so little, the situation is essentially you are handraising an orphan.  and go look on the articles and threads on this.

Here the extra twist is, he hasnt eaten the last day - because of? - and thus, you do have automatically a Yellow Alert on, possibly even Red Alert on.

If necessary, smear some glucose sugar on his lips and gum - may be as  thick honey water.  This perks in energy in a kitten whom began to go downhill or got lethargic.

I agree with StefanZ . Your kitten looks younger than 6 weeks.

Try some Gerber turkey or chicken baby food. Let her lick it from your finger.

Also, get some powdered PetAg kitten formula and kitten chow. Moisten the chow with formula. You can also buy a kitten bottle and give her formula this way. She needs to eat.
