Good morning, it's Saturday again.

If you had the money and time to go anywhere you wanted this weekend, where would you go?

Part of me wants to say I'd go to Tokyo for the weekend. I haven't been to the city for ages, it would be nice to do a bit of shopping, visit a few art galleries or just sit in a coffee shop and watch the world go by.

Then again, Tokyo in the middle of monsoon season is going to be very hot and sticky.

So, I guess one place I'd really like to go is to the ocean. It would be nice to walk along the beach and go for a paddle, I haven't seen the ocean for ages.

Too bad I have to work all weekend.

How about you, where would you like to go and what would you do there?

I would go to the mountains, somewhere any where.  Close to a lake would be nice.  I love the mountains.  Here in the northern hemisphere this is the off season for the mountains so no crowds.

Very boring - I'd stay home and sleep  :anon:

If I had money, time and energy though, I don't know what I'd do. Maybe take Collie off somewhere for a weekend of training and some gorgeous off road hacking :9:

I would definitely head to the ocean, Hampton State Park Beach or Ogunquit Beach, Maine.   Both are beautiful this time of year.

Since it would be a short trip, I'd head to one of the Jersey Shore beaches.  Maybe down Ocean City. Last time we were there there wasn't enough time to hang out.

I'd like to go to the beach. I love the ocean and the seashore, but I'm a thousand miles away. I guess I could settle for the Indiana Dunes State Park on the shores of Lake Michigan.

I would love to go to LA for the weekend. I would sight see, eat at all the restaurants I could (Pinks) and hopefully see some famous people.

I would love to meet up with the other cat site folks and go to Hampton then drive an hour north and show them Scarbrough Maine on the beach-its north of Old orchard beach-the beach is HUGE and lots of sea grass and roses-those roses are in bloom right now. That would be fantastic. The water is actually warmer here than Hampton but the waves are not as big as Hampton. That would be the perfect weekend getaway. Beach. Dinner. Seaside middle level motel-nothing too fancy-open those windows at night and smell and hear the ocean. And Honeybee would accompany me with a harness and leash. She is more dog than cat. Loves people. Loves car rides-and she has no fear it seems like other than strangers. I would get her one of those Velcro harness jackets. She is my little copilot for traveling.

I do miss the beach. I would have gone today but the traffic is horrid on the weekends,,time has passed too quickly this year. already its almost july. And I usually go to the beach on a weekday instead. also that beach I go to-has only on street parking on one side so its never crowded. You can walk to old orchard beach and eat some nice greasy food and ice cream then walk back to the other beach but its a good 2 miles one way. of course I always loved walking along the water's edge. and well this does sound lovely! @DreamerRose

I'd go up to the mountains and rent a nice cabin (ie; one with electricity and running water!) and spend time out on a lake during the day; sitting around a campfire at night.

I like this idea, but I need woods.  Lots of trees.  Maybe Wisconsin.

Out in the wilds of Colorado, where the air is fresh and clean, and I don't have to put up with unnecessary distractions and headaches.

I'll be going there next week to visit my son who lives on the west side of the Rockies. We will be driving around in the mountains to see the wildflowers in bloom.

I would go to Assateague Island, Maryland and play in the ocean and look at wild ponies.
ERM...you can actually do that here in North Carolina, taking the ferry from Beaufort, about 30 miles from where I live...

It sounds like you're closer to the ocean than I am.   Also, have more islands available!    I'm about 2.5 hours away from the water  (depending on beach traffic.)  Assateague Island is really a special place -it's a State Park with very interesting birds and plants, as well as the ponies. Plus you can camp there.  Remember the insect repellent, though.  The insects are voracious!

France. I'd take in the sights of Paris and the French countryside, pay my respects to our fallen heroes at Normandy and happily live on bread, cheese and wine. Vive la France! Vive moi!
