Cute kitties!

And yes, it is true that cats can have kittens/siblings that look nothing alike.

As for the breed(s) they are both domestics. One domestic short hair (the one that is mostly white), and one domestic long hair (the one that's brown tabby and white with the long fur).

The one that is mostly white has the fur pattern of a turkish van (but he/she is not a turkish van) with the beown spots on the head and the brown tail.

The other one's coat pattern would be calssified as brown tabby with white.

Observe they arent totally different.  They have essentially the same pattern and color, both are  brown tabbies and white bi-colors.   but one got this  in the Van pattern, and the other got this in the Saddle pattern.    Such bi-color pattern is quite strong, its not unusual a bi-color barn cat can get a whole litter with bicolor kittens. this would otherwise hint a purebred background.  but here she has apparently a totally different "husband" - this shows the gene is pretty strong.

Ok, what really differs them is one is longhair, some sort of pseudo-Norwegian, the other is turkish Van patterned...

Longhair gene is recessive.  It could even be both parents were shorthairs, but both were carriers on the longhair gene.  Annd voilá!   In the litter one of the kittens becomes a longhair...   Its not the janitor nor milkman trying to help with procreation, it was the legal husband all the way.  But both significant persons had some extra cards hidden up the sleeve....

So yes, its entirely possible they are littermates from the same momma and daddy.
