Hello All,

Was hoping to get some feedback from anyone whose kitty has had PU surgery. Since the surgery, my cat has been scooting and and he is also is very wet/damp in the area around his urethral opening after peeing. Is there anything I can do to make my boy more comfortable? The PU was last year.

The one thing I do is try to shave the fur around that area so there is less to get wet. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry you aren't getting any response.  As to the scooting, I would think that is more for his anal glands or anus (constipation) rather than his urethral opening, but can't be 100% certain.  I just know that cats with problem in the areas I mentioned DO scoot.

As to the wetness, I don't really think that's normal after a year or so.  Have you had this discussion with your Vet?  I would think that would be the place to start.

Other that the wetness, how's he doing?  Did the surgery seem to do the trick?  I've heard both good and bad about that surgery.
