I've recently adopted an adorable stray kitten yet its urinating behavior worries me a little. First time I brought it home, the kitty did her business in the litter however it took 14 hours before it did that again and with insisting a lot. It only seemed to want to do it when I used a wet tissue after that long, at 7 am in the morning, otherwise I have no idea when it would have attempted to urinate. Before doing that, it had no intention to do anything, just get out of the box, Now it's been almost 10 hours again and the kitty seems to find the litter box its playground rather than wanting to do anything in there, although it looked like it wanted to urinate once but nothing. Is this even normal.. ? It seems more interested in playing and sleeping than doing her needs but I find the time difference quite big.
I'm feeding it dry food and it's drinking water quite a lot too but that when it did it, the urine & poo looked normal.

Kittens do often think of the litter box as a playground initially, everything is a playground.  One of my cats actually took to sleeping in the litter box when he was a kitten and for an adult and an older kitten laying in a litter box is a really bad sign of possible illness.

What type of litter do you use?  It's best not to use clumping clay litters with small kittens.  It is not at all uncommon for a small kitten to experiment by eating the litter.

I think it might be that type of litter. I got it at my best friend's advice though since she used to have a couple indoor cats and they didn't seem to have a problem with it. The kitty doesn't look like it wants to eat it either, it's more preoccupied with playing with the box. It simply comes as it not wanting to do its needs even after 10-14+ hours whether it wants to play with the box or me.
