My kitten is sick

Hi! I just got a kitten a couple of days ago. Since then she has had an upper respiratory infection and her incision from being spayed also got infected. Yesterday she had surgery and her whole incision thing was taken care of and she is on antibiotics for her upper respiratory infection. But her upper respiratory infection has gotten worse. She seems to now have a cough. What do I do?

Call your vet back and explain it to him or her. Your kitten may need a different type of antibiotic. You can also run a hot shower until the bathroom gets steamy and then put the kitten in there to breath the air. It may help her cough.

Please contact your vet and let them know about the cough and the symptoms getting worse. She may need a different antibiotic. When did she start the antibiotics for the respiratory infection? Also is she still eating?

For tonight you could try a steam treatment. Run your shower as hot as possible to steam up the bathroom. Sit with her in the steamed up room for about 15-20 minutes. This may help break up the congestion and make her more comfortable until you talk to the vet tomorrow.
