Since it's been over a day since you posted and no one who has these shelves has posted, I'm going to take a stab at it. Just to warn you,  I have absolutely no experience with shelves like these so you have to take my input with a large grain of salt.

That shelving is really lovely.  It would look terrific on the wall.  And like you, I would worry about little cat feet getting pinched in the spaces between each individual board.  Some of that would depend on the size of your cat and his or her feet of course.

It also seems to me that if your cat got up any speed on such a bridge, the chances of pinched paws is greatly increased.

The other thing I wonder is, how much movement is there in this bridge?  It would really need to be rock solid (I think) to be safe.

Anyway, as I said, these are just my thoughts from looking at the photo.  It is very pretty though.  I can see why you're considering it.  I wouldn't mind having something like that on my wall either but I would worry.

I had never even seen these before but you're right -- they're lovely, and I'm sure Jasmine would enjoy it.  In looking at them my first thought was, "Oh!  I could make something like that!" but now I don't know.  I'm wondering how we could make them safe.  I'll sleep on it for a couple of days; something may come to me.
