Hi all,

I just have a question about my cat that just got fixed. She keeps licking her stitches, and every time I put the funnel on her head she tears it off, what should I do?.

Also, after I moved into this new place she started pulling her hair out, does she just need to get used to the new environment?.

Thanks in advance!.

Hello,

Is there anyway to tie the funnel/cone a little tighter so she can't slide it off?  That could be dangerous if she tears up the stitches.  Perhaps is she keeps doing it there is something sour tasting that she wouldn't like and put it near the incision.

I know with my boy, when he had stitches he was also licking because like all cuts, it started itching upon healing.  I rubbed vitamin E oil near it and he didn't care for the consistency, took one lick and that was that.  I only used it once.

Perhaps an experienced member can give you advice.

As for you new place.  I wonder if your kitty is allergic to something.

Is there carpets?  Did the previous owners have animals?

I'm sure someone will chime in with better advice.

you can try a baby onsie shirt instead of the cone or a soft cone but she may still try to get out of the soft one. maybe hit a thrift store and try a couple of newborn shirts? you can always cut the flaps off=should be long enough to cover the incision.
