yesterday as well as today i've been having some problems when posting. i am able to submit posts, but it takes a minute or so after clicking 'submit' before my posts appear...and what i'm getting as well is the post appearing as a post as well as the box where i'd typed up my post still there on screen (with my typed up post, ready to click submit again). i've found that i need to 'discard' the lingering draft of the post i just submitted.

in a PM i replied to today, i clicked submit and got an error message, which told me to refresh the page. i did refresh the page, and my PM reply posted twice.

I had the same thing tonight with a couple of private messages.  The first one just vanished when I "sent" it and left a message DRAFT NOT SAVED.  It was a LONG message too.  I should remember to create those on Word and then copy them over because then I would have a back up (Word saves every 5 minutes because I set it to do that.)

Anyhow, it was important since I will be pretty much away for the next 2 days (I have work for a couple of days!) so I rewrote it, a shorter version but still long.  When I sent this second one, I got the following message

Please try again!

Something has gone wrong! Please refresh the page or try again later.

Tech support has been notified of the problem.

First I dropped another PM to the person I was communicating with, then used the back arrow to get to the Please Try Again page and clicked on REFRESH and got a message that my private message had been sent.  I went back to the message string and sure enough, it had posted, TWICE.

I had two links I had promised to add but had to look them up (two TCS threads on related problem) so I sent them in a NEW PM to the same person by clicking on Send PM in her profile and then sending them.  As of right now, that one still hasn't shown up in my list of PMs.  To be on the safe side, I went back to our original thread and added to two links to IT, and yes, they are there.  The other PM I had sent with the two links does not show up in my PM list yet.

What browsers are you using?

i always use Firefox.

I've had it happen before (awhile back), but after I got the "site is updating" message yesterday, it started happening to me again. I'm on Chrome.

I notice it a lot more with quotes, but it does sometimes happen without quotes as well.

I'm having a similar problem.  When I hit submit, the New Post notification occurs at the bottom of the screen but my post remains in the Reply box.  That means I have to manually delete the text in the reply box.   I'm using Firefox. 

We're having problems replicating the problem.  If anyone has the ability to record this happening, you can send it to me at [email protected].

okay, so i cleared firefox's cache, via network. i do clear the cache via privacy (instead of network), along with cookies and browsing & download history, on a very regular basis. i also have my browser set to never remember history.

i do have firefox addon's: stylish, adblock plus, adblock plus pop-up addon, and betterprivacy. just a 'heads up' about my feelings on these addon's -- i won't use websites that require cookies (in order to perform properly) or that require that i remove addon's.

I have been having a similar issue off and on.  I am using Chrome and an ad blocker.  It will sit there for a few seconds then I get the pop up about an unread message and it is mine.  The draft is still there and I just cancel the draft.
