Hi im david and I turn 35 next grrr scary!!! But anyway I'm new on here and would just like to say a huge thank you to those who have answered my questions.
I have aspergers syndrome which is a form of autism. Sometimes I worry a lot and it's not always easy to say how I really feel and I sometimes feel down as well.
Ive always loved cats and last week I visited a cat sanctuary and fell in love with Martha.
She had been bought into the shelter as her owner got fed up of getting a cat and thought his street cred would be better once he'd got a staffy . This meant Martha didnt get a look in and ended up in the shelter. Anyway when I first saw Martha I thought " she needs a friend and I need a friend ". So I took my chance and took her home. After hours of strokes, cuddles and treats and spoiling her rotten with toys and beds she finally began to see my home as her home.
Since getting martha I feel so much calmer and its so nice to come home to someone thst wants to love and indded to be loved.
Im goong to do my best to make Martha feel special, wanted and most of all loved

Welcome David and Martha to TCS!
Bless you for rescuing Martha.  Poor girl being rejected by her previous owner.  It's all for the best, though, because she is now where someone really appreciates her and knows her for the treasure she is.  Plus she might not have been safe in her old place.  I hope the two of you have many happy years of friendship ahead .  I'm so glad it's working out for you both.  BTW, we have other members with aspergers syndrome so you will not be alone here!  Hope to see you around the forums.

Welcome, David

It makes my heart happy that you and Martha found each other. It sounds like you both needed saving [emoji]128571[/emoji]. I'm so glad you took a chance on her. I hope you both have a long, lovely life together.

I adopted my cat four years ago and not a day goes by where her presence doesn't save me in some way. I simply don't know what I would do without her. I suspect that you and Martha are that way. I saw the photo you posted of her and she is so lovely and elegant! Enjoy your time with her and if you every have questions or concerns along the way, please let us know.
By the way, my brother has aspergers so I understand a little about how that probably impacts you. Martha is so good for you [emoji]128571[/emoji]

Welcome David, what a wonderful story. I'm sure Martha is so happy now that she has a good home with someone who really loves and appreciates her.

It sounds like the two of you were meant to be together.

Nice to have you on The Cat Site David. Lucky Martha to have found someone to love and care for her. I'm sure she's going to return all your love and affection.

I'm looking forward to hearing how the two of you get on.
